Also the gems I used were level 1 because I couldn't be bothered to find two equally leveled gems. Level 1 MPD and WED will favor elemental damage since WED starts with a bigger multiplier. Then there's also the amount of increased damage, so what you did has proven nothing. Increased Physical damage is far easier to come by, as it is present in things like Melee Splash, strength, quite a few passive nodes, and more. When you favor Faster Attacks over MPD? That's for on-hit effects, not damage. If you want to maximize damage, MPD and WED are must-haves.
