Kickstarter Campaign for PoE's Optional Self Found League!

i stil think that SFL with trade inside party would be the best game made in many years
i would donate 30 $ without hesitation:) |

" That's because you are a cheap bastard! Jokes aside, if GGG did actually deliver on paid leagues, would the RoW`s league have a self found theme or would you keep it missionary and stay trade economy centric? P. |

I admire your persistence Petrov. Good luck.

" Lol, what a contradiction.^^ A SFL with trading, very funny. |

" PoE would have been the greatest game in the history of man kind if every single mechanic didn't come from the need to center everything around the economy. Why arena GGG so hellbent on forcing trading and, on some level, partying down our throats? Only money? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. " Keeping the brass ring out of reach for most (getting a build to level 100) goes hand in hand with the whole carrot-and-stick psychology and what motivates humans and specifically here what motivates our desire to play PoE and then continue to play for 100s and even 1000s of hours more. But if the goal of our PoE playing is to get a build to level 100 and the path to it is so steep (say like climbing El Capitan) then only a select few will ever enjoy that high emotion from achieving level 100. To go the opposite way and make a level 100 build too easy is equally just as bad and should also be avoided. So GGG has to walk the tightrope and balance PoE for somewhere in the middle. We all know that with such great diversity that arpg players desired "goldilocks" zone is also very diverse and of course it is impossible (foolish) to expect GGG (or any arpg game company) to be able to satisfy all. But where in the middle GGG places the PoE standard is what these discussions/debates are all about. Millions of arpg fans have had to finally just say "no mas" and stop playing PoE as GGG hasn't satisfied them enough in the loot and crafting orb department (too much loot starvation for time played). IMHO, to be fair GGG is not too far off (I feel content difficulty is spot on for 99% of monsters and bosses) but in the crafting orb department this is where GGG has missed the target for many and is in my limited perspective a big reason for the low quantity of active players and hence these posts. This is the part of PoE that GGG must focus on immediately after (or in parallel with) act 4. GGG must reward our devotion to PoE with better loot (item progression past level 50 sucks donkey) and more crafting orbs for the self-found or risk losing more players. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. " You played D3 RoS Dirk? That's precisely how it works there, and it works exceedingly well. Sadly, so much of the rest of D3 is gash. P. Last edited by mrpetrov#7089 on Jan 10, 2015, 11:25:37 AM

" I appreciate that, thanks. I don't play PoE these days, for precisely the reason that trading has deflowered the experience for me. I still think GGG are wonderful and I'm so appreciative of the game they delivered and which gave me so many hours of enjoyment. I feel, nonetheless, that it has so much more potential in it around this topic. I know it's a dead horse, but I still care and...if you don't ask, you don't get. If I (and others) let this topic lie, do you somehow think that would be more likely to result in the existence of an optional SFL? I don't feel I'm robinson crusoe on this topic, perhaps I am? P. Yea, I would pay maybe 5$.
That would fix one of the main problems I have with the game, and will actually bring a lot of people back that quit PoE and move to other arpg games, as they dont like the trade centric and economy balanced game. |
