Might be time to start on POE2 and forget future acts. Real talk

That's all I wanted. I wonder if they will have a free weekend stress test like PoE had. I'd like to feel it out before paying for it.

P.S. - It requires Steam to play. I've never used Steam before. I guess I'll have to download it now.

If you buy it from Grim Dawn's website, when the game goes full release, you have the option to play it without Steam (DRM free since you are getting the non-steam key from Humble Bundle store) or from steam. If you want to play it now, you will need to have Steam installed. You can still get the DRM free key version of GD at release, if you buy it from their website (at the same time you are fully supporting the developers). Or you can buy it from Steam when there is a discount sale on it, but if you buy it from Steam, you are stuck with it on Steam.

Crate does not do free weekend stress test since this game is mostly offline single player game. There is multiplayer be it server-based (not close to that of Poe), LAN, and etc.

Ah, okay. Thanks for that info, John. I'm watching a trailer ZiggyD made on it right now and I'm not sure if it looks better than PoE right now. The biggest problem I'm having with PoE right now is I can't even play it due to the game crashing almost every time I zone (since the 1.3 patch). This is what I'm watching right now as I am typing this:

Ah, I remember that video. Crate is planning on adding more of those rogue-like dungeons later on the game, and possibly a game mode (do not take my word on this, I may have misinterpreted what the devs said) that is truly dedicated to rogue-like dungeons. Of course, that will be added at full release or after. I got the package that will give me the first free expansion, but back then when I bought the package, it was at 85.99 USD, now it is slightly cheaper.

Act 3 part 2 will be included in the game in a couple of months (late February to mid March) if everything goes well. Act 4 is supposed to be the last act for full release, but I am not sure how big they will make it. Crate is hoping to go full release around somewhere in the summer. Up to you if you want to get the game now. You still have the option in waiting till the game is fully done, non-expansion wise, and the option to buy the game via GD's website should still be there (for the DRM free version too).

Edit: Actually, the next game mode is supposed to be Survival mode. You can find it under game guide, in game mode section of their website. The game guide provides a lot of info about the game. It gives you an idea what the game contains. When you have the chance, read through it all, to get an idea what Grim Dawn will provide, if you ever buy the game.

I watched what you linked. To be honest, I really don't know if Grim Dawn will be better than PoE. However, the functionality issues in PoE are getting unbearable now. I want to play Lineage Eternal but that's two years away...

Grim Dawn is aimed to cater those that were big fans of Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, or to those that do not give a damn about any "economy" and just want to have fun for themselves or with friends.

While GD and PoE fit the same genre, PoE is purely online like D3. The only comparison that GD has is D2, TQ:IT, and Torchlight 2.

Yeah, I see. I like a more social game. I played Anarchy Online for about five years (from release in 2001 to 2006) and then went back to EverQuest (I had played EQ for a few months before AO came out). I've been playing EQ since. I temporarily lost access to it in China, but now I can play it again via a proxy. During the time I lost access to EQ, I played Diablo 3 from the day it launched until I found out about PoE on D3's forums (about three months later). I had a max level toon in every class in D3 pretty quickly and felt no attachment at all to any of them. On the other hand, PoE held my interest and I grew attached to my marauder. Once again, the main issue I have with PoE now is its lack of functionality. There are huge stability/playability problems. My PC is pretty much a beast. I built it right before the launch of Diablo 3 and, at that point in time, it was cutting edge. I also pay for the fastest internet available where I live in Beijing, and I use a badass proxy. Even with all of this, PoE is still unplayable now. It's kind of disgusting.

What are the PC specs you have?

An ssd would go a long way to improve performance and they are coming down in price\gig by a bunch. I got a 500gb ssd for $160 usd.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.
Tbh any longtime gamer that hasn't tried steam should try it. The ability to download any game you have ever played before whenever you want is awesome.

For free games like poe obviously you can always do that, but for example a couple months ago I downloaded xcom and gave it a try and would have had to buy it again or pirate it, but since it was on steam I just downloaded it again from steam right away no issues.
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes
-----
Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Ya in my latest play through I finished an I/I game (without abusing mimetic skin because I feel that's cheating). Pretty proud of that accomplishment, xcom on I/I will mercilessly slaughter you if you let it. After I tried starting an all-assault game but got bored and came back to poe.
