Cloak of Defiance - The only viable option for EB/MoM builds?

Given the enormous distance between "Eldrich Battery" and "Mind over matter", I failed to come up with a single viable build that would justify going for the notable instead of equipping the unique "Cloak of defiance".
Do you guys think it should be repositioned slightly closer to the scion/witch/templar areas? Are there actually any EB/MoM builds that are better off taking the "EB" and "MoM" notables instead of using "Cloak of Defiance"? Last edited by GnGEmpire#0632 on Jan 1, 2015, 8:22:32 AM

I honestly feel it's out of place where it is currently and think it would be better by the Templar spot somewhere, probably between the Templar and Witch spots. He is the strength/intelligence hybrid class and Mind over Matter feels like that is the category it falls under.

I never used MoM or Cloak and all I play is EB witches. There are way more formidable defenses than conditional MoM.

" The thing about MoM, the way I see it at least, is that it's essentially an almost "free" layer of defence. Unlike armour/evasion/dodge/block which all require investment of passive points as well as investment in gear, MoM only requires a single notable, or Cloak of Defiance. The rest of the gear is the same gear that you would use for any EB character anyway. The purpose of this thread is to find out what people think regarding the viability of the notable in comparison to Cloak of Defiance. In my opinion the notable is not even worth considering, ever. I made a thread about this a while back (twice now in fact) - they didn't really garner much attention.
But my personal opinion: > NO ONE picks up MoM from tree > It's not in a good position (It logically doesn't make sense to put it next to duelist and ranger, those guys don't have enough mana regen or availability of mana nodes to use it. I would like to see it near vaal pact, on the other side of the highway near the life/flask and block nodes above IR. One potential con of making it very accessible would be the stacking of very powerful chests [Coil + MoM, Carcass + MoM, etc] so it would have to be adjusted so that MoM is slightly lowered on the passive tree, but cloak stays the same. " Nice idea actually, good job. I would go for Heart seeker instead of Death Perception tho, the accuracy Isn't needed and for the cost of 2 extra points you get 15% extra crit chance and 25% extra crit multi. Yeah I edited a bit. Just saying with % projectile down there and ranger close proximity to MoM it's probably only build worth taking keystone.
