How tough to craft +3 bow gems?

Never tried to craft. Was planning on buying or crafting a +3 thicket with IAS in bloodlines. Just kinda curious as to how hard it is to get +3 on a bow through alt regaling before i make my decision.

I'm wodering the same thing as to also find out whether it's cheaper to buy +3 bow and then try to 5/6L or buy 5L/6L and then try to +3 craft.

I think rolling +2 bow gems is pretty easy, just throwing a bunch of alts at it, but hitting that +1 gems with regal... not so much I guess.

If you trade, you can't expect to beat the price by crafting. If you could, people would be crafting them for sale. Trading is typically at least 10x cheaper than crafting for yourself. It has to be.

Always buy never craft. Like +3 bows are super cheap anyway.

This. Outliers only lasts a short while (like multimodding phys back in 1.2). 99% of time though just buying desired warez is far more economical.

That includes 6Ls, proper coloring etc.

Agreed on trade > craft for 99.9999999% of things.

Someone finding a +3 bow (or some other specific thing) and not using it doesn't really care too much about keeping it or pricing it equal to the expected crafting cost. Meanwhile they're looking for something that you may have found that they want but is ultimately not useful to you.

This is like... Econ101 in a nutshell:
- "I've got all this peanut butter and no jelly!"
- "I've got all this jelly and no peanut butter!"

It's actually pretty hard

You are better off buying it.

Before I have tried to craft +1 level to all gem on a 6L for a summoner and it took around 2 ex worth of alteration orbs to roll +1 to all gem mod.


Rolling +2 mods is not that difficult and you will see them frequently.


I guess you will need around 10 ex worth of currencies to roll +3, if you are lucky.

You were rolling a staff right?
Compare the affix pools for staves vs bows.

+1 gems is quite easy to roll on bows.

both are prefixes and you need to include the cost of augmenting a +2 and regaling for +1 each time.

You can probably get on for 1-3 exalts depending on seller. Chances are it will be cheaper to buy and link as opposed to craft a linked.
