Accidentally helped the wrong bandit. My character is now gimped.

A couple of things.
Life is full of flaws, yes. PoE is not life :)
PoE is, to some of us, a game of optimizing your build, survivability and damage output. Not being able to optimize it, devalues this.
OCD, yes, in things where I strive towards a goal, I try for the fewest flaws possible.

I'm not sure why there is a patronising tone in this thread, but I sympathize with the original poster.
Let's keep the discussion on a nicer level than D3, there's no need to get personal :)

All it would require is some implementation from the developers to cancel and redo the quest, but for now a least, this is very low on their list of priorities, if there at all.
Which is fine with me, other issues are more important than this I agree.

I think 1 retry would be good for the bandit quests, or something like that.
At least if you make a mistake on the passive tree and you're out of respecs, you can always just buy an orb of regret.
If you screw up the bandits, your character is permanently sub-optimal.

This may not seem like much to some people, but I personally would feel compelled to make another character just due to that single mistake (compelled as in feeling forced to, not 'happy to do it').

This is getting ridiculous now. Would u like Chris Wilson to come round to your house and play the game for u. Or perhaps if he were to just hold your hand as u play? If u cannot appreciate that your actions have strict consequences in PoE then I suggest u go play something else. Pathetic, just pathetic.

Start a new character.
Level through partying.
Don't care about ninjas and loot and all that crap too much.
Once you get to cruel, Ledge/Fellshrine/Docks farming ..in a party as well.


Leveling is stupidly fast once you know what you are doing. I already got two lvl 65s in under 2 weeks and I play maybe....1-2 hours average everyday.

Just made the same mistake. already killed alira and Kraityn, arriving to kill Oak, preparing to cast skills on him, accidently by reflex i clicked on help.
Quest is Abandoned.
Now i'm a lvl 51 totem/fire witch, with 18% atack speed which is useless for my case.
This quest mechanism clearly need to be changed.
At least a validation button need to be added.

If the bandit point is that crucial, bite the bullet with the 20-Regret respec and move on to the next grind.

Like RogueMage said, There is now a recipe that you can do to respec your bandit choice that was not available when this thread was made.
