Found one today, tried it at lvl 1. I don't have crit as I'm doing RT mace and dom gets melted in seconds, but I can see this on crit staffs, the hidden dps from explosions is going to be crazy on crit staffs.

Please correct the threads title. You are speaking of Static Strike (Gem) not Static Blows (Passive)

Static Strike does have its downsides. You essentially do no damage until after you hit a minion. It is actually quite hard to use against exploding mobs. While in the long run it does more damage than say a Cleave build, Cleave will do more instant damage which is better in some situations.

Yes it seems really strong for normal melee standards. I dont think its something special if you compare it with an avarage crit dagger or bow/wand build.
Atm im trying out Static Strike with a staff. This is the build i have come up with so far

Trivializes shock because:
1) Initial hit crits, apply shock stack 2) Explosion hits after 0.75 seconds, probably while the enemy is already shocked dealing 105% of the damage of initial hit (70% * 1.5 cause of shock). 3) Explosion crits, producing shock equal to the initial hit So i have a strong feeling we will see a nerf to it because of this. Would be more balanced if the explosion couldn't crit or didn't have the ability to continue shocking stuff in aoe. I am using the skill myself and will be sad when they do nerf it. However unless they utterly destroy it, it will still be a nice skill to use because you don't have to use melee splash with it. Shock stack was always referred to a single application of shock since it used to stack, as in "you can apply up to 3 shock stacks".
By that reasoning now you can only apply 1 shock stack, and I am not the only know using that terminology. I am just using an older reference for the shock status effect, your reaction however was a troll attempt since if you wanted to correct me or post something helpful it could have been in a more polite and reasonable form. Really, you are a special one. Shock stack used to stack. We called it shock stack because IT ACTUALLY STACKED. Does it stack anymore? No. Then don't call it shock stack.
