But maybe it's just because certain European countries+Russia are known for filesharing.

Or because most other places shut down filesharing quicker than you can say 'DDL'. Or because the ones that are up have ridiculously slow download speeds unless you pay?

What, you seriously thought I didn't know what DDL was? Me?

Oh, Bertie. Oh, Bertie.

kickasstorrents is still up and fast, at least for me.

PS!
I know how you feel. Downloading RO for an unofficial server was agonizingly slow.

YOUR infrastructure isn't good enough for Netflix? Christ, they are bringing it here to NZ, but apparently they are only going to be streaming low definition because our web of cables is made out of fairy dust and bird shit.

Back in my yoof I considered myself quite the 31337 pirate hax0r (back when pirating involved sharing floppy disks and downloading cracks off BBS'), but I have to admit that I have not kept up with the scene since getting old and fat.

That was advanced! I started by exchanging tapes with friends. :p Then 3" disks (Amstrad 6128!), then in the late 80s BBSes (Usenet mostly with those ASCII-fied binaries).

I actually like torrents for legal stuff, too. It's convenient, always pausable, and very reliable.

Copying cassettes does not count because reasons! I've done plenty of that for my C64 when I could afford blank tapes, because holy shit, eastern europe in them early 90's.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.

The only Cassette games I can remember hsving copies of were Wizball and some game where you played a dude turned into a pumpkin who had to kill a witch... Cauldron? Might have been Cauldron II.

Oh, and Spellbound! That game was awesome.

As long as bakabt is up I don't care too much. Pirate Bay is back btw: [Removed by Support]
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

.se is the ONLY url that has anything to do with TPB crew, but yes, it's back and it isn't going anywhere, much to the dismay of those who built it in the first place and who want nothing more than to see it die like it was supposed to.

Can you expand that thought? I never knew that that website was disposable.

I wasn't there at the start, but the plan was always to shut it down after 10 years. It was supposed to inspire copies of itself (which it did) and therefore fade into irrelevance (which it didn't but easily could).
