Do we expect too much from GGG?
It's not only spell crit builds, but bow crit builds and ground slam crit melee also. Everything is way better when you have 300-600% crit multiplier and there really is no downside except: Reflect (which can EASILY be mitigated with block/spell block/ resist flasks or evasion/ondars guile, a lightning coil armor (40% phys damage to lightning)
There is no downside: With a non crit build you still have to build some sort of DEFENSE to not die, same with reflect, you build a defense against your own damage. IT'S OP, END OF STORY. If you stand next to a double boss Corpse-Explosion, you're gonna have a bad time. RIPKRIPP

Crit is okay I don't want it gone, I like that screen shakin' my brain too and watching everything shocked and frozen and on fire at the same time it's also the beeze neeze, but watching some youtube videos of Crit Tornado or Crit anything just face rolling the game easily in 1 second is just ... stupid. I've seen that bow on reddit like 50 times, nothing new, just following everyone else with no build diversity. Follow the same tree get all the same nodes faceroll the same boss in the same amount of time. I don't see how this is fun, I mean dying is not fun, but I don't get that heart pumpin on the edge feeling as much with a crit build. It's like guaranteed to win at the game if you just follow what has been done before and mirror the same items everyone else is using... my opinion tho, I like to make builds that are my own creation and I rarely look up someone elses tree or guide. Almost never.

Yea I can understand that, experience and time rewards you with power, this game has a lot of things that reward knowledge and experience: vendor recipes, Atziri Services, etc.
But it just feels like lately there are a lot of people complaining about how they are forced to go crit because non crit is just so... slow at boss kills. I have no problems honestly with the game where it is now, I'm still having fun both with and without crit but I am just seeing a lot of QQ about crit multiplier and honestly I do think it needs a little bit of a rework or something like diminishing returns like armor or something that isn't 95% chance to crit ... we have 75 (78% ?) max block/spell block and also blind has the same sort of cap/ same with evasion so why not crit? I feel like PoE is going through the same thing Diablo 3 went through and evolved from: There is no build diversity if you try to get crit chance and crit damage on every piece of gear, that's how it was in D3 and they changed it for the better (I no longer play the game though, I hate blizzard's assfuckery)
But what they DID do that was good in my eyes is stole PoE's idea of Unique items making different builds possible. Now with the crit thing, it goes right back to having no diversity, you use a bow? Crit. You use spells? Crit. You use a 2h weapon? Crit. Same thing D3 did wrong they are doing with PoE right now. The game is evolving and hopefully they catch it before it gets out of hand and everyone gets pissed off. What happens when you make the same crit build every single league it's going to get boring, you might like the power you have now, but honestly I think you will get tired and leave if all there is, is crit. " About the question: Yes, i expect more from GGG, because in these years PoE is the most remarkable reference of the genre, and isn't that monsters are a big challenge or the combat have special goodies nor because the story line has an overwhelming and compelling atmosphere that makes you pay attention to details. SINERGY in its design and concept is what makes PoE so good, and you notice this from the first character you play. the Barter system interacts with everything Skills>Items>area Objects(like strongboxes)>EndgameAreas(maps) and vice versa, how those interact each other is brilliant! definitely the best i ever seen in this genre, at this point i thought cant surprise me anymore but then they came with the Animated Guardian/Weapon Teaser: skills that can recycle loot O_O!, even the useless loot isnt a waste at all, but we can discuss their practicality :) So Yes, always expect more from GGG, i think the longevity of the new leagues depends on the balance pointed by previous comments and Quality Assurance of the new content(monsters and combat in specific), hope they fix the engine issues before Act4 hits, because it's awful lots of skill combos cause disconnections, big FPS spikes, etc killing Public Games which is where new players reside.
