I was getting very excited until he talked about companions. Why can't games be built for single player only? When I see games that require any sort of companion, I don't play it.

i think like any Fallout game companions are entirely optional

Well, if my memory is right, it was mandatory on Tactics. Other than that, nada. You can go alone for the whole journey.

He stated clearly that companions would be central to the mod. Eye candy or not, gameplay is the only true measure of a game. If you don't enjoy how the developer designed the game, all the great graphics in the world won't make it worth it.

Heh. Never played BoS, but never heard good things from it.
My favourite? Fallout 2. Fallout 1 wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. As for the modern ones, it's a hard decision. New Vegas gives us some vacations from the gloom that Fallout likes so much, and the factions are very nice, but it feels somewhat linear. On the other hand, Fallout 3 feels very good, but if you played the original game, it's not the same. Something's not there.

New Reno was my favourite location; you can become a mafia member, a heavyweight champion and a porn actor in the same street. Oh, and there are lots of fun quests; it's boring to be the do-gooder at most games.

Ya new reno and goltotha in FO2 were my faves as well. I loved that gunshop with the artillery battery in the basement
