" I didn't say that. I stated that ZiggyD and Etup were most likely famous because (not excluslively because of this only reason) the devs officially supported them. A dev officialy naming you, boosts the amount of people knowing about you, specially among those who don't read the forum and just check announcements once in a while. Most of the PoE players do not the read forum. How will they find out about a forum personality such as slayer or I_NO? I could understand that even players who dont read forum may be interested in knowing who the winner of temporary hardcore leagues are, specially if GGG themseleves announce their names in official announcements. Edit: I would also think they would be interested in patches and that's where ZiggyD got a lot of additional exposure. This message was delivered by GGG defence force. " Let's not get too caught up over semantics, it's all for the fun of "name and FAME" instead of its [removed by support] counterpart. I do agree we shouldn't let our standards drop too far, and start putting people on this list just because they make annoying posts (like some of the self promoting people in this thread). I also agree with Charan, that perhaps some of these people aren't famous, they're LEGENDS. But solely for the fun of the list, let's not start trying to distinguish them, because that's just inviting too much e-peen from wanna-be's. Devolving Wilds

For me it would be the MWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW guy. It was so annoying to see his name all the time while racing.
