Help a newbie to have a good start in PoE

Lately I´ve watched some beginner videos and read some beginner guides. So far i am ok but now i really got to find a beginners build that i can understand easily and follow. I looked on the forum of PoE but there are only a few beginner builds and even then it´s hard to follow for a real newbie to PoE. And some of the beginner builds just didn´t suit the play styles i prefer. I would like to start PoE with an archer, a shadow or a witch.But Shadow class is preferred by me. Basically i am serarching for a beginner build for a shadow and someone who can answer some of my questions which will definetely appear while playing PoE. So if anybody with experience in PoE could help me I would be glad.

Firstly, you should read Noperative's beginner guide (top sticky in this section), that will answer most basic questions.
Then you bookmark wiki, you will need that for technical info.

These two bow shadow builds should be easy enough to follow and are cheap to make, it should be a goo starting point if you insist in following a build instead of trying the hard way.

Ice shot/herald version is probably stronger but you need to use different skills for levelling because it kicks in pretty late, you most likely won't be a bow user until endgame.

Zuerst einfach ausprobieren, würde ich sagen. Es gibt nix besseres als einfach ins kalte Wasser zu hüpfen und andererseits auch keinen Grund am allerersten Char festzuhalten. Es wäre auch extrem teuer ihn umzuskillen, sofern es GGG-seitig keinen Reset in nächster Zukunft gibt. Niemand erwartet, dass du die Feinheiten des Skilltrees sofort durchschaust oder alle Ausnahmen was Skillgems oder Mechaniken betrifft kennst. Mein allererster Char dümpelt auf Lvl 44 vor sich hin und ich hab ihn schon lange nicht mehr angefasst. Du hast genug Slots frei zum Experimentieren. So zumindest hab ich es gemacht und auch ganz alte/erste Chars wieder gelöscht, weil ich auf dies und jenes erst später draufgekommen bin, usw.

Ich antworte auf Deutsch, weil ö im Namen recht ungewöhnlich für sonstige Sprachen ist - so if you didn't understand the words before, just ignore them =)

Play one of the puncture bow ranger/shadows. It's super cheap and makes end game. Insane DPS, fast, hearty, ranged, and fun...really no downsides.

Don't try to over-analyse your first playthrough, it won't be fun if you do, just accept then you will screw up your first character (I don't know anyone who didn't).

I would pick whatever class you like, and grab nearby passive nodes that suit your style (don't get elemental damage if you are playing physical), and also get all the nearby life or energy shield nodes, avoid getting too many Keystone Passives (large single nodes) as they may interact with each other and make you suck.
Some things to remember are:
Get life and resists.
Use flasks often, they aren't potions.

Check out this guide, I think the poster lays out a lot of valuable information for a new player, and explains every decision quite well. I have not played the build itself, so no comment on that aspect, but it will at least help you understand the game mechanics
