Please stop this.. another friend got hacked..
"Lol using a wiki for information... If youre looking this stuff up as you go it just goes to show how little you actually know about it. Ive had a few encounters with it myself, AVG prompted me, vaulted it and removed it. Zero day data has been shared with such companies allowing this to be detected. Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in! Labyrinth salt farm miner. "But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years. ^ I linked the wiki page because it explained in more detail then I feel like doing, and if avg flags something then it's no longer a zero day by very definition because the solution is now available. I already know what they are (and removed numerous zero day infections from people's pc, such as the moneypak virus before it was added to virii databases), thus why I suggested one as a possible vector in the first place.
edit - and the only reason I did was because if they DID download a bot or get infected with a key logger or a remote desktop trojan as a result of going to such sites then their anti-virus software wouldn't detect it because it would have no idea what it is. It wouldn't detect and they would have neither the method of removal nor even the warning that it needs removal unless they were monitoring all packets going to/from that pc. This often comes from sharing passwords. Don't. Sometimes it's not even this game, but an old friend guessing your current password because you told him the one you used 4 years ago.
He wasn't "hacked". Hackers aren't after individual accounts. They want access to as many accounts as they can hack. Hackers stick out. This was one guy who didn't take care of his stuff and lost it. |

10 people hacked? If true (and i honesrly doubt it) then it is most likely due to a) rmt site b) shady software from shady website c) public wifi access and sending password in plain text (happens more often than not)
I can understand one person getting hacked (or human vectored with easy password) but 10? From the same group? What support told you? Brcause it looks fishy. Btw. There is a reason why most secure aware companies ban ALL wireless interfaces. It is much more difficult to sniff eth cable than wireless. And this is a reason why i cope with cables around my place instead of one convenient wifi router. Sniffing. |

Sad for kujar bro, he was a cool guy on these forums.
Really, bummer for him, hope he sticks around but that will be harsh i imagine. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" You may want to try it sometimes, because it is pretty accurate. I am a security expert and work against threats like this all the time. Zero day means you are exposed for a certain amount of time before the AV and other security solutions are able to detect and counter it. Not to mention even the best AV does not detect 100% of vulnerabilities. At best around 95% on average. A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
