Standalone client not patching

My school *has* recently begun blocking various webpages, and unfortunately, I can't get to a VPN.
I'll try asking a friend if they can patch their client and send me the relevant files, to see if I can at least play the game. |

that's probably not going to work as it's around 5gb in size.

I don't see why it wouldn't work via a big enough flash drive or something. I've done it before, when I've been away from my desktop.

usually when people say "send" they don't mean "put on a flash drive and deliver".
but it would work if you had an 8gb or larger flash drive. |

I feel kinda dumb. I went to Windows Firewall and allowed Path of Exile. Now it's patching just fine. It looks like it was just the firewall!
