Question: Why do most TS rangers use Lightning coil?

And why no rare items such as mine..

Idk what tornado shot has to do with it, but most rangers are running critbuilds w/ life+acro+EV+ondars guile and lightning coil helps a ton with mitigating the otherwise completely unmitigated physical damage that does make it through every now and again.

The 40% phys reduction(or more like 30% since you still take 25% of the converted damage assuming you have 75% lightning resist) prevents 1 shots from your own reflected damage and bear trap\EK mobs since without coil the only defense you have against physical spells is the 30% spell dodge from phase acro(which doesn't even work against bear trap).

Usually in HC it's seen as more reliable to have a Lightning Coil since there are mobs that deal physical damage as spells, which you can only dodge with the 30% of Phase Acrobatics (if you have them). Maps filled with Evangelists (bubble guys), EK/bear traps exiles, etc. are very dangerous in hardcore if you're pure evasion base. However, I would disagree with a lot of HC players saying that Lightning Coil is mandatory as an evasion character in HC. A now famous and very nice Australian streamer said so about his recent TS build. I would disagree with that. My pure evasion ranger is doing really good in Beyond without it and you'll easily find pure evasion character that reached 90+ in HC leagues without the Coil.

Well firstly that rare chest isnt all that great, if I were to use a rare chest as opposed to lightning coil, it would have probably higher es values + chaos resistance.

I dont know what a TS ranger is but its just that lightning coil is a strong unique, not that a particular build uses it. For large hits, lightning coil is even more effective than having armour, since armour mitigates less as the damage increases. But lightning coil always converts the same amount.

Well now I must be not informed I honestly haven't met TS rangers using lightning coils o.0

Imo the more fun way to play is max evasion (i.e. Queen of the forest). You become 97% reflect immune (as opposed to just taking less with lightning coil).

I did answer the question, it doesnt really matter what type of chest you use, you would still want to stack evasion values instead of es values if your chest is an evasion base. Wealth really has nothing to do with what kind of stats you are aiming to get.
