Direct X 9, 10, 11?
The graphics for this game look really awesome. Does anyone know if this game will support Direct X 10, or 11? It would be pretty awesome if it did, or even if GGG planned to patch it later on or something.

" Thanks. It uses DirectX 9 so that it works on a wide range of hardware. Lead Developer. Yeah like any online game, it's even more important for a f2p game to make sure it is accessible to the widest range of players possible. Which means low sysreqs, low price (free) and wide distribution (online international)

" This would be awesome. PoE currently takes up only about 60% of my graphics card processing power (Radeon HD 5850). That leaves a lot of room for pretty effects. Tessellation, better shadows, higher particle count, etc. Forum Sheriff

Do we really need better graphics ? I don't know why nowadays gamers are obsessed by graphics. Fun is the key guys.

Yes ofcourse is fun the key, but a game becomes much more immersive if the graphics can really suck you in (which in turn makes the game more fun)
Gameplay is the most important, but good atmosphere aswell (sound and graphics) Oh and gamers have been obsessed with graphics since voodoo3D Last edited by Larz89#3014 on Aug 5, 2011, 10:51:40 AM

i also dont want my 250€ i payed for my gfxcard to be wasted. there currently are only two games which realy need the power: metro 2033 and crysis 2. but like all mmo's they just want to reach more players... but why dont they write a scaleable engine which runs on all kinds of systems?

" Check this puppy out if you've yet to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00gAbgBu8R4&feature=channel_video_title This technology has the potential to scan anything IRL and put its likeness into just about any current 3D graphic engine. What's more is that it can combine an object created by a 3D artist with real life pixels from a photo to create an artsy look. The possibilities are endless: Essentially, when this technology hits mainstream; games will either be fiction, non-fiction or a mix of the two. There will be no limitations based on the physics/graphics/API engine used by developers today.
