Im completely lost in your posts. Maybe defining variables and using equations instead long sentences would..

I will use my example instead:

100 base phys damage, 35% added fire, 30% hatred
80% increased phys, 40% increased elemental, 20% increased fire, 10% increased cold

1) no conversions

physical part - 100*(1 + 0,8 ) = 180
fire part - 35*(1 + 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,2) = 84
cold part - 30*(1 + 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,1) = 69

2) 50% conversion (Infernal blow initial hit)

physical part - 50*(1 + 0,8 ) = 90
fire part - (35 + 50)*(1 + 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,2) = 204
cold part - 30*(1 + 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,1) = 69

3) 100% conversion with AoF (Infernal blow initial hit + Avatar of Fire)

fire part (without damage from Hatred) - (100+35)*(1 + 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,2) = 324
fire part (damage from Hatred) (30/2)*(1+ 0,8 + 0,4 + 0,2 + 0,1) = 37,5

hope that helps. If you manage to get your example into some kind of equation, I would be able to clear things up for you

e: typos

Thanks a Lot ! And thank you for the note. I should have used more numbers, rather than words. We have a saying here in my country "I am explaining it that way, so even I can understand what I am explaining" :D ... nvm
Your words were very helpful ! I have always thought that the math goes this way:
(i will use your "no conversion" fire part)

{0.35 * [100*(1+0.8)]}*(1 + 0.4 + 0.2)= 100,8
Seems like that's not the case, although it makes much more sense to me that the added elemental damage should be separately multiplied by the elemental nodes.

And I just did a testing with a 2H pure phys Char.

It shows: 3757 - 5802 Physical damage
When Hatred (35%) is up it adds 1352 - 2089 cold damage
(for the sake of calculation i will use several regrets and get Catalyze to see the numbers of cold damage)
So, Additional 32% (elemental nodes) and cold damage is now 1449-2239
So the Flat increase is 97-150, which is definitely not 32% increase in the cold damage from Hatred Aura.
You are SO RIGHT ! and... This goes to bookmarks :D
I Won't even test the rest part of your calculations, i will assume you know what you're talking about :) Thanks, mate ;)

this has been asked many times, but never in such long post :) .. It was difficult to say where your confusion comes from :)

Actually, my whole response could have been (as usual):

All applicable "increased" damage modifiers from all sources are summed up .. and you would figure out the rest:)

I have an example that is different from OP's case, but I tried to make it easier to read and understand the numbers.

The confusion stems from:

With 100 base physical damage and no conversion modifiers

Physical +100%
Added Fire 30%
Elemental/Fire +100%

Some do(incorrect)
(100 phy *2) = 200 phy
(200 phy *0.3 fire) = 60 fire
(60 fire *2) = 120 fire
200 phy 120 fire total

rather than(correct)
(100 phy *2) = 200 phy
(100 phy *0.3 fire) = 30 fire
(30 fire *3) = 90 fire
200 phy and 90 fire total

numbers explaination

the base physical is 100
the base fire is 30
The 100 phy gets affected by +100 physical
The 30 fire gets affected by +100 physical and +100 elemental/fire

If 100% converted to fire, the only difference is that the 100 phy also gets affected by +100 elemental/fire, so you would have:
300 fire from 100 phy base
90 fire from 30 fire base
390 fire total

They're essentially multiplying the fire damage with both modifiers instead of adding because they go by how the skill is worded: "Gain x% of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage". As mentioned before, in a case where you have 100% converted to an element, it does not matter whether you get elemental or physical increases.

isn't really as straight forward as it sounds for those who don't already understand, especially with conversion.
