You guys sure this is an ARPG?

Cause it feels more like a Korean MMO to me.

Are you sure this is feeback? Because it feels like an empty pot-shot to me.

I thought the feedback was self evident, but I guess I could be more descriptive. The game seems like it is all about mindless grinding for very little reward. You don't even find your own gear... you just purchase it via said grinding or your credit card. I love theorycrafting and creating builds, but cannot play most of them without grinding for 10 hours a day or flipping items with a third-party, wannabe action house and clunky, outdated trading mechanisms.
Oh!
I get it! It's another 'drops / crafting suck & you can't play without trading.' kind of threads.
I wouldn't know what results 10 hours a day of grinding yields, but I really don't think it is required to make a successful build. That sort of comment requires significant backing, I would think.

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?

I would say the same for D2 applies. I played that game for newly a decade without ever touching a multiplayer instance, or even knowing about the existence of duping. How ya think my experience compares to POE?

I frequently find my own gear. The real problem with this game is that it exists in an era where expectations are set by streamers, pushing the theoretical upper limit in a practical, almost non-chalant way. Manage your expectations differently and the game takes a whole new hue.

The RMT references here apply to every single online game. Every.

Told it several times after OB, this game got MMOfied and and the best term to describe it is an Asiagrinder.

Even the %-amount of people quitting within a short time is the same.

I enjoy ARPGs and I hate MMORPGs and PoE is nowhere close to be an ARPG.

The devs believe that the only difference between ARPG and MMORPG is the amount of players in an instance.

Who ever said D2 was the perfect ARPG? That game is almost 15 years old... I hope ARPGs have evolved since then. That said, I played self-found D2 for years and found it much more rewarding. I could at least do targeted farming and find loads of uniques/runewords to make builds around.

My expectations aren't set by streamers, they are set by my desire to keep the game fresh and by my limited time. I only have time to play a few hours a day and don't want to spend the entire 3 months of a league playing 1 build. With as much customization as the game offers there are hundreds of builds I would like to try out, but progression and reward is just too slow to experience even a fraction of those builds.

It is only a pot shot if you think an mmo is explicitly a bad thing . Last time i check a rather large amount of people happily enjoy mmos.

putting that aside. Yes the new update had made the game feel more like an mmo to me.
is it a bad thing? personally I am indifferent, it has its pros and cons.

most of the cons are with implementation rather than overall concept. (ie the current issue where running masters in low level areas quickly becomes pointless is a real concern going forward)

poe has issue with mid game , and this patch borrowed from mmos to try to fix said issue . what is wrong with that?
Yes. For a solo self found player D2 was much more enjoyable experience. The drops at high levels had way bigger chance to be useful compared to PoE 99.998% crap.
did you people actually play d2?

offline self found I couldn't even make it past act 1 hell because grinding for gear to keep going was stupidly tedious
