Most of games have this feature, i would like to see it implemented in POE too.

Total of portals used: ? Total of treasures found: ? Total of rare items found: ? "applied when item was looted" Total of unique items found: ? "applied when item was looted" Etc t c ##################################################### Achievements: Time achievements: 10 hours, 50h, 100h, 150h, 200h, 250,........1000h 10 hours = achievement [Time killer] 50 hours = achievement [I like Poe] 100hours = achievement [I just started] etc t c --------------------------------------------------------- Monster kills achievements: Any mob kills: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, etc 500. mobs kills = achievement [Training] 1000 mobs kills = achievement [Crusher] 1500 mobs kills = achievement [To weak for me] etc t c -------------------------------------------------------- By category: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, etc 500. Zombies = achievement [Zombie killer] 1000 Zombies = achievement [Death eater] 1500 zombies = achievement [Punnisher] etc t c 500. skeletons = achievement [Skeleton lover] 1000 skeletons = achievement [Bone smasher] 1500 skeletons = achievement [Ashes to ashes] etc t c --------------------------------------------------------- Bosses kills: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, etc 100 bosses kills = achievement [Boss hunter] 200 bosses kills = achievement [Don't make me hurt you] 300 bosses kills = achievement [I became a Boss] etc t c --------------------------------------------------------- Treasures achievement: 1 treasures found = achievement [Seeker] 10 treasures found= achievement [Treasure hunter] 20 treasures found= achievement [Tomb raider] etc t c --------------------------------------------------------- Other examples of achievements Friendship achievements Party achievements World chat achievements Events achievements PvP achievements Community forum achievements Etc t c There can be tons of achievements option. What is the importance of this system: - player will get excited to unlock new achievement by its tittle or reward. - it will be proud to be on the first page of the achievement list top. - Its a good system that keeps players playing the game. Rewards for each achievement, besides the name tittle achievement: ITEMS, POTIONS, COSMETICS, ETC. imp Last edited by kindland2009#4721 on Oct 12, 2011, 9:03:05 AM

I totally love achievements.
I was a big achievement hunter in SC2 and would like to support the idea. Information like "monsters killed", "time played" and the like are almost a standard in modern games and should be implemented regardless. |

It will be great to have this system in the game!!!

Getting X of Y achievements aren't that interesting. They need to be something you try to accomplish, not achievements that just suddenly pop up on your screen one day while playing.

I agree, achievements make you feel warm and fuzzy inside when you complete them.

This exists to a limited extend with some of the stat tracking /commands... that said, it seems to me that there will no doubt be a lot of work on this b4 release, and kudos to you for posting your ideas on the subject.
Notifications and classification of categories are more or less the place to continue work on the feature. Of particular relevance though, and something probably easily overlooked in the OP, was the mention of them appearing on the site... which leads me to the point of being able to make the stats public for your different characters, and for each ladder... ETC. Good stuff, I am not much of an achievement crackhead or anything, but they can be a good kick in the pants if your looking for one, and they certainly are not a bad thing is you get a nice UI element that pope up from time to time to tell you "GRATZ" you're cooler than you were a minute ago! Go, You!" Patience is a virtue. Last edited by Nazaxprime#6017 on Oct 11, 2011, 6:08:03 AM

One thing I have seen elsewhere and liked was the ability to link to your character. It would show you character and everything they had equipped.
It would show: Name Level Class Current Equipment Skills ( this wouldn't be needed, it would be nice but hard to implement. As far as passives are concerned) The game that did this just had a data stream(page) that fans could access and use to display what they wanted on there fan pages. You could only access the character by character name. |

I somewhat agree with antilurker77 in that achievements should be achieved, but a serious gamer will no-doubt stumble across random achievements as time playing the game increases.
I also like the idea of "just for fun" achievements that players can attempt that do not require the best gear or skill to attain. In my old WOW guild, the GM was in her mid 60s and though she didn't participate in any of the raiding or pvp, she certainly enjoyed her dailies and had the achievements to show for it! Granted this game seems to be less cheery and all, there will be players that are limited by things such as skill and time to invest so a few achieves might be nice for them. Along the same lines as achievements would be titles. I imagine upon completing each difficulty setting one would get a title, there could also be titles relating the completion of certain achievements. I would hope that these titles were optional and changeable as it is one of the few ways f2p players could individualize themselves. paying players should also be allowed unique titles as they are purely cosmetic. There were a lot of "patriarchs" and "matriarchs" in D2 and that title told us very little of the characters behind the title. give us it DanAbnormal All generalizations are false.

I think achievements can be fun. I much prefer it in games where they have an effect on your character. If it is just for titles I tend to do it every now and again for fun, as a change of pace, but I focus more when there are bonuses involved.
There have been two systems implemented in games that I particularly liked. The system in "Vindictus" is interesting because the achievements are very specific in nature(kill a certain boss with an object 50 times) and each achievement gives a title associated with it. Finally and maybe most importantly you get passive stat bonuses that are always applied to your character, whether you "equip" the title or not. So really there is no reason not to get a title. The more titles you have completed, the higher your base stats are. The other was "Mythos". You had 6 slots where you could equip achievements.(you started with like 1, and got more open slots as you leveled up) So each achievement had certain bonuses that you would get if you equipped it into one of your slots. This makes it a little more of a character customization thing, but it also makes achievements that you don't plan on equipping, not really desirable to pursue.(which might be good, or bad) If they have just for fun achievements that's fine, but I much prefer when you get little bonuses or when it becomes an element of character customization. http://www.therainforestsite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=4 http://www.ecologyfund.com/ecology/_ecology.html And My Giveaway Pages: http://glamlys.tumblr.com/ https://twitter.com/glamlys https://discord.gg/zJ3UbT8MES Last edited by Raxlea#4806 on Oct 13, 2011, 7:16:56 PM
