There are a ton of problems right now with the implicit mods of items. Onyx Amulets are excessively powerful compared to the 3 stat amulets, and the life/mana/all resist rings are much more powerful than all the other types of rings.
Also, the physical damage belts are basically useless (at least for melee builds) since 35 strength gives 7% physical damage + life + gear options. At the moment, the implicit mods are very unbalanced because there is such a clear winner in almost every category that it is silly to use anything else. In fact, you are gimping yourself if you don't use the better types of items, which is a complete disregard for GGG's philosophy on itemization.
This. I feel like if you're not using a Leather Belt (or Chain Belt if you're CI), you need to have a damn good reason. The only reason I'd use any type of amulet other than Onyx is because I need way more of a certain spec or I don't have a fitting onyx on me. I think the rings are kinda okay as they are (sometimes you need one specific res in high amounts), but this is really a chronic problem with belts especially and amulets to a lesser degree.
Although implicit mods in general could use some balance tweaking, I think that Iron Ring in particular is in a good place. When it first drops in early Act 1, it's actually pretty good (something to seriously consider in a race); it quickly loses value and becomes "why would I use this" shortly thereafter. It's a learning experience. Later on, the game plays on this by making them vendor recipe components, so savvy players can still do something with them.
When I said the reason was "to make the other rings look good"... I meant it.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. How do you reroll amulets? I don't get it.
I just put 7 iron rings into the vendor with a rare amulet without any results.
All rings + amulet are i69. What am I doing wrong?

Is it just me or does 1-4 physical damage seem underwhelming?
+1 they should be tiered or smth.
THey are used in recipes but its only because they are so uselees in any other scenario.
OR, they are so useless in any other scenario because they can be used for Recipes.
You should know GGGs policy by now. Every benefit has a drawback.
You have a shitty Ring, but you can use it for Recipes.
Or.
You have a Ring for Recipes, but it is shitty.
What's the drawback of Alpha's howl and Shavronne?Just curious.
