What's the point of Iron Rings
|
Is it just me or does 1-4 physical damage seem underwhelming?

Firstly, they are a lower level ring.
Secondly, they can be rolled with many other decent stats in either magic or rare varieties. Thirdly, with % damage increases from passive trees and support gems, 4 bonus damage gets multiplied by some pretty beefy modifiers. Flat phys/weapon damage scales really well with ability damage for this reason. AMD FX 8350 4.0 Mhz OC@ 4.8 Mhz

1-4 damage. So if you're looking for purely physical damage that's an extra 2-8 damage for wearing both. If you use Physical Damage or Projectile Damage increases, that can raise it to 4-16, the 4-16 is further capable of being buffed by strength (either due to melee weapons or iron grip) for up to and surpassing another 100% increase to 8-32. It's not much, but for a free affix that might do more for some builds then a +12% all resist might.

His point is that the implicit value of the ring is freaking useless.
You get more from Resistance Rings or even health rings. Same goes for Quivers. Even with all the increases and multipliers, the value is too low especially at higher levels. |

" That's why it is a low level ring. You use it later to role Resist rings and other stuff. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

" +1 they should be tiered or smth. THey are used in recipes but its only because they are so uselees in any other scenario. |

" OR, they are so useless in any other scenario because they can be used for Recipes. You should know GGGs policy by now. Every benefit has a drawback. You have a shitty Ring, but you can use it for Recipes. Or. You have a Ring for Recipes, but it is shitty. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"
