Does Iron Reflexes double dip?
|
I've done some searching and found conflicting answers.
If I have 100 evasion, 100 armor, and I pick Iron Reflexes - I end up with 200 armor. If I have 100 evasion, 100 armor, a +20% evasion passive - I end up with 120 + 100 = 220 armor. If I have 100 evasion, 100 armor, a +20% armor passive - I end up with 100 evasion -> armor, boosted by 20% because it is now armor = 120% eva-armor, and 120 armor = 240 armor? |

no it does not, there was a post from GGG stating so, it only applys to one stat or the other.

" Once you take IR, % Increase to Armor will also apply to Evasion. So if you have a 20% Evasion node and a 20% Armor node, your evasion would be increased by 40% and armor by 20%. Evasion 100*1.4= 140 Armor 100*1.2= 120 Total of 260 Armor. But keep in mind that the bonuses from nodes like Leather and Steel(24% Armor AND Evasion) only apply once. So it counts as 24%, not 48%. Edit; This is assuming the 20% Evasion and 20% Armor came from 2 separate passives. Last edited by Porkeh#4054 on Feb 4, 2013, 2:31:05 PM

" No it doesn't. |
|
" do you have a link to the post about this? the examples you describe are a completely ass-backwards approach to the design and wording. Last edited by twentygold#6477 on Feb 4, 2013, 2:33:05 PM

Thanks Porkeh, I have been contemplating whether I should take Leather and Steel since I will more than likely take Iron Reflexes eventually. This will definitely make it helpful for me.

correct me on any misconceptions, please
so getting iron reflexes does the following in this order: converts evasion rating to (Evasion Rating from gear and 5% passive) * (1 + DexterityBonus + EvasionBonus + ArmourBonus) then adds that to (Armour * (1 + ArmourBonus)). nodes for Leather and Steel only add to ArmourBonus once IR is picked up. nodes for +Armour add to ArmourBonus, which is a multiplier for both evasion and armour. nodes for +evasion only modify the EvasionBonus. So a well planned IR build ignores all +evasion nodes, including leather and steel? |

" Edit; Well that failed. What's the 5% Passive you're talking about? And yeah, the Leather and Steel passive is the equivalent of taking a 24% Armor node by itself. Last edited by Porkeh#4054 on Feb 4, 2013, 2:51:28 PM

" Thanks for your help. Mark's post: 1) You take your base armour, and apply any increase that applies to armour - this includes Leather and Steel. 2) You take your base evasion, and apply any increase that applies to armour, or to evasion. - this includes Leather and Steel. 3) Add those two numbers together. That's your total armour. I bolded the part which helped me understand. In my original example of having 100 armor and 20% passive armor, 100 evasion and 20% passive evade.... 1) base armor * (1+0.2) = 120 2) base evasion * (1+0.2+0.2) = 140 3) Total armour = 260 |
