Will the classes be gender locked?

I think they should have gender choice, its a very minor thing but since you are looking at your character the entire game its important to atleast pick male or female.

Lore/background is really not such a big issue that it should affect gender. Diablo did that for D2, and these classes seem to follow similar gender choices, but I think since there is no other customization gender should be one of them.

Although, making that a payable option is a good idea, since cash shops are usually for visual asthetics.

I love the choice to be a guy/girl. It provides distinction, and (though loosely) takes away sexism. Every guy isn't some big brute who just likes to bash skulls, and every girl isn't a graceful lioness who likes shooting down her enemies with a bow (Or a magic bolt, respectively). There is also the point that it's an RPG: Role Playing Game. It states nothing about being gender-oriented, and this isn't a full-fledged campaign based game where you are playing a specific character. As an MMORPG, you need to have choices to make your character unique in his/her own way, correct?

People may argue with me about it not being necessary, but I think that as a character in your own story, you need your own character, not something pre-ordained for you.

In just about every way, I think lore outweighs character choice, to such a level, that choice almost becomes unimportant.

The lack of lore in this game is a major issue. Classes being represented by both genders....not so much.

I think a choice between genders would be nice and I'm not opposed to buying a vanity item that lets me choose if it funds the developers

nahh dont gender lock, takes away player choice and freedom to make his OWN character uniquue

i don't mind if there is a gender lock which there is likely to be ... but i agree with the fact that is better to be able to choose the gender of your character, it creates a small sense of individuality

I hope they do eventually release a pay for feature of different skins and character editing tools, including gender.

Gender locking isn't such an issue for me. it makes since the strength guy is a GUY and the DEX toon is a girl, that how it usually goes. Alas this argument goes both ways, cause sure its not as fun when everyone looks the same until half way to end game, and everyone wants to be individual as much as possiable. in the end its a tough call for the dev team cause it's such a double edged sword ;D
