Once upon a time
Why is "in a land far away" better than "a land you haven't been to" ?

because if you drop a nuclear warhead in a land far away, you most likely don´t care
if you drop it however in a land you haven´t been yet, you might miss out on the sightseeings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcKqhDFhNHI

Imagination. The words stir it better.

" I always thought it was "in a land far, far away". Which if you think about it, its like twice as far away. Example: In a galaxy far, far away. Because we are now talking space travel, that extra far is vitally important. "Withdrawing in disgust is not the same as apathy"

Because, the reader could have been in said land.
In that case: "a land you haven't been to" would been: A) a total lie. B) silly. | |
Once upon a time, in a land far, FAR away, there was a bunch of programmers who partook in national passtime: sheep fucking. Then they made an awesome, yet extremely flawed (but AWESOME) game, and hired a bunch [Removed by Support] moderate their forums as if they were from Southern United States, and not a land far, faaaaar away...

Becaused a land you've never been to doesn't have to be far away and a land far away could still be one you've been to.
You won't get no glory on that side of the hole.

" Someone needs to go sit in the naughty corner for a while. Predecessor! Paragon is BACK. Finished Dragons Dogma 2 at 327 hours, 9 playthroughs. Loved every minute. Holy shit, Assassins Creed ARPG trilogy isnt shit. 3D titan quest with better writing? Dungeon Encounters is brilliant. Square Enix should stop banking on bloatjunk like ffxvi and ff7r. " Because "a land far, far away" instills a sense of mystery and wonder, where as "a land you haven't been to" could refer to something like Ohio, and there is nothing mysterious or wonderful about Ohio. Last edited by Mephasm on Aug 22, 2014, 2:52:38 AM
