Mechanics Question: Elemental Equilibrium and Remote Mines

The clue is in "with Elemental Damage", not "Hit". If you deal zero Damage, do you really hit them with Elemental Damage?

That's pretty ambiguous, you know. If you asked somebody that played other rpgs but not PoE he probably would spot nothing off, he would read it as 'you hit somebody with a skill that does elemental damage'. Which also makes sense - the skill does elemental damage, the hit is elemental, it didn't do any damage to the target for whatever reason but in normally deals elemental damage.

Like I said already, it's clear to us just because we know what to look for.

If you Convert 100% Cold to Fire, do you still deal Cold Damage, and does your Fire Damage check against Cold Resist? The Skill normally deals Cold Damage, so clearly, yes. It would also Freeze just fine, because it normally deals Cold Damage.
It's the same thing. Normally it would deal Elemental Damage, but you took a Passive that sets your Damage to zero. You don't deal any Damage -> you don't deal Elemental Damage.

Makes sense for ancestral power, but not for the case where you try triggering EE with some minor elemental damage on your attacks. Hence, clarification needed and no reason not to provide it.

By the way, the example was pretty bad :)
