Elemental Equilibrium + Spell Totem
Here's the question. If i use frost nova totem prior to attack, will it work with EE and add +25% cold resist and -50% other resist? Or is it only the damage i deal myself.

According to this, elemental equilibrium only affects YOU, not your totems or minions.
However the totem will still benefit from the reduced resistances you put on enemies. If you put a frost nova totem down and then hit an enemy with a fireball, that enemy will get -50% cold resist and your totem will go to town. Hardcore 4 life! " Minions might not be affected, but totems are. Because totems work as if you cassted the spell they use - so they pratically have all the passives you have. So they should trigger EE. " Yes, if they are inflicted at the same time. There can only be one elemental equilibrium debuff on an enemy at a time, so hitting with one element and then the other will cancel the effect of the first one, but if you hit with two elements at the same time you get the combined effect of both. I did not understand this part. It says that inflicting one element then another cancels the effect of the first one. What is that supposed to mean? Do i have to cast one schooll one magic then another and keep repeating it to get benefit of -% resist. Doesn't it work this way: the first spell hit mobs gives them +25% to that resist and -50% to the rest till they are dead. And about minions and totems affection the link is rlly outdated need an updated post that will explain it from developers. IGN chistor

Yes it works with totems. Totems are not considered minions. This is why e.g. minion life / damage doesn't work on them. You can use for example a flame totem together with an arc build to keep a (nearly) constant EE effect on monsters.

" Can you clear up a part where developer says: hitting with one element and then the other will cancel the effect of the first one, but if you hit with two elements at the same time you get the combined effect of both I can't get what hes trying to say there. Why would hiting with for example fire then lightning dismiss +25% fire, instead of beeing triggered till their death. And the second part about hiting with two elements at the same time. Does it mean that if i hit with cold+fire spell or phys attack it would trigger -100% lightning resist. IGN chistor

that information is old, no longer the case. Just read the wording:
"Enemies you hit with elemental damage temporarily gain 25% resistance against those elements and lose 50% resistance against others" This is exactly what it does. No stacking separate effects as before. If you hit with a fire+lit attack, the target gains +25 fire +25 lit and loses -50 cold. --
I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. |

" Does that debuff last till target death or certain amount of time or till another school of magic is cast? And does it affect other group members? IGN chistor

" It lasts a few seconds I think, not sure exact duration, and gets replaced when you hit again with either your own attack/spell or a totem. And yea it affects other group members. IGN: Jerk, Princess

" There u go again. I don't understand when ur saying that it gets replaced when u hit again. Explain it please. I was planing to use spell totem ice nova with EE and Lightning Strike as main attack. Cast Spell Totem mobs get -50% LR then kill them with LS. Will that work? IGN chistor
