I like her monologues. It tells you more about the game. Decidedly different from the other characters you play.

After the 500th time they start to grate slightly.

Maybe their frequency should be inversely proportional to your play time.

It really is as simple as just having plot dialogue appear on normal.

I have two problems with the Scion dialog, sometimes she comes off as pretentious and sometimes she talks despite not really having anything to say.

I'll give a few examples. First comes one comment she makes when she kills Brutus where she says something in line of "I would have understood." I know she has problems, but she has certainly not spent hundreds of years being deformed both in body and mind. Whatever her problems are, they are far from what Brutus went trough, so there's no reason to think she would understand him.

Then there's Tolman where upon seeing him dead, the Scion says something in line of "you and me Tolman" and remarks that they are both victims of fate. Tolman was helpless and could only watch as Piety did experiments on him while the scion is capable off singlehandedly destroying whole squads if not platoons.

The Scion also has a habit of commenting on everything. Sometimes she has something to say, but other times her comments are just a load of nothing. She says something about every carving and every graffiti, but less than half the time she offers anything that can be called insight.

I think this is the wrong way to write dialogs. My suggested way of doing it would be to first ask yourself "can I think of anything fun, insightful or otherwise meaningful thing for the character to say?" If yes, then have the character say that and if no then have the character keep quiet. However, it seems that GGG decided in advance where they would have the Scion speak and then tried to think of what she should say.

Probably a good idea to have some kind of option to have dialogues on or off.

I think it is kind of implied that she isn't fully human.

Play.

It's not that she talks too much. She talks too much SHIT.

Actually, we just need a check box that says "Shut the Scion the fuck up." She's almost universally hated.
