♦ ♠ ♥ ♣ Proposal for a new crafting system (6L used as example)
No, just...no.
A 6 hour period in which you get asked to pay more "random fees" between 1-100 fusings every 15 minutes would absolutely break the gaming experience. Not only is this idea absoultely "lame" (wait/pay more/wait/pay more...6 hours, really ?), during that 6 hours you couldn´t possibly run maps for example, or do whatever, because every 15 minutes you´re asked/forced to go back to the vendor and pay him....and how do you even come up with 1 - 100 fusings every 15 minutes ? Imagine : 6 Player Party runs a nicely rolled high level map. One of the Players, while in the map, gets the next message "please pay your next fee of 75 fusings or crafting will be terminated." That Player has to leave the map (and likely cannot come back into the map), to pay the fee, map gets wasted, the remaining players lose a Party member, XP gain, loot drops, OR the Player loses his investment/risks failing the Project by not paying the fee and gets back a random 4L/5L and wasted already more than it usually takes to get that. After 4 hours he might have already paid 1000 fusings (or more) and then such a decision is forced upon him ? I wouldn´t wanna be in that player´s shoes, and it´s unlikely that the other Party members wanna run with him again while that process lasts. I see nothing good in this suggestion, the more I think about it, the more I hate it. I´m sure whatever solution GGG brings up, it´ll be a lot better than this. Even the current system is a lot better than pay/wait/pay/wait/pay/wait and be banned from actively playing during that time. Edit : final thought on this (as mentioned, it gets worse the more I realize how this would work in practice). This procedure would cost you an average of 200 fusings per hour. What if you just run out of currency short before the timer ends and you get the guaranteed 6link? Ýou waited 5 and a half hours, paid every orb you have and then you run out and have to terminate the process..."sorry dude, you just wasted 1386 fusings but since you cannot pay the last 78 fuse fee you only get back a 5L." No practical thought has been put into this. Last edited by FeistyPeisty#3689 on May 6, 2014, 12:14:39 AM

I totally liked this idea except the waiting part. Why do I wait. Let me pay the amount of fusings at the beginning and get the results immediately.
For example: 100 fusing -> +10% chance to 6 link 300 fusing -> +20% chance to 6 link Can OP explain why I need to wait for 6 hours other than torturing myself.... ? |

" Did you read the OP? Each fee you pay increases the chance to 6L. If you decide to terminate early, you still receive a good chance to 6L, depending on how many fees you paid. For example, if you get lucky and have the first 10 fees cost you a total of 100 fusings (+the initial 100 fee), you could choose to terminate the crafting process early, and have a 13% chance to 6L. That's huge. So why the 6 hour crafting duration? Because 6-linking should be hard. With this method, the game forces you to choose between 6-linking an item or farming. If you choose to 6L the item via this process, you are rewarded with a guaranteed 6L at the end. Guaranteed. " Because time = money. If GGG made it so that you can buy a 6L with, say, 1000 fusing orbs instantly, rich people would be 6-linking things left and right. The 6-hour limit is used to simulate an artisan crafting an object. Crafting takes time. And you are guaranteed a 6L at the end of the 6 hours. I don't think that's too much to ask. Also, like I mentioned, 6 hours is simply a random number I chose. Could be 2 hours, 4 hours, whatever. ✮ in-game @FTMFW ✮ twitch.tv/RRTSON ✮ [Shop] http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/909223 ✮ [Build of the Week] http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1034503 Last edited by rrtson#7791 on May 6, 2014, 1:45:59 AM

This isn't feedback at all. It's a suggestion.
And as far as suggestions go... big -1 from me. Crafting timers? Hard to think of a more annoying, no-life-rewarding, actually-has-a-life punishing mechanic. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " Of course I did read it. Did YOU do some math before suggesting this ? If every fee is between 1 and 100 fusings, the average per fee is obviously 50. every 15 minutes equals 4 times an hour, over 6 hours this adds up to a total of 1200 fusings on average (add some variance and it might be a lot higher, easily !) Currently you can get around 26 to 30 exalted Orbs for that amount (in Standard League) and if you have that much, you just go and buy a 6link chest from another player. That will not take you 6 hours to do, and you definitely get your 6link, and not some close to 50% Chance if you terminate only 1 fee before the 6h period ends. It´s not only very unprofitable, it´s boring as **** and would drive me mad to see it implemented into the game. I´m back to my initial response: no, just....no. |

"This. Only amount of orbs should be somewhat random but with known boundaries. And it actually require a timer, but not the timer for crafting process! It could be cooldown period until another attempt of "guaranteed" crafting. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

" Thing is, eternal orb is out of reach for a LOT of players. My suggestion would also actually encourage players to frequently use their orbs as soon as they got available. Jews and fuses are not out of reach for a lot of players. Edit; my suggestion isn't related to anything but jew and fusing orbs. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1552460 - my drop solution Specs: CPU - i5 9600k, geforce 2060, 32 gb ram, ssd, 2133/2333 mz.----- EXILES EVERYWHERE, PLEASE?!?!?! Like i told you earlier in "that other thread", this promotes more bad-player-experiences and the main point of altering the current gambling/crafting methods (whatever you call it) is to create more good-player-experiences.
Sorry bro -1 from me also, and i already stated why in the other thread :). Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
