Can't apply 2nd suffix to piece of gear
" I'd guess a random combination of two words, where it selects from a certain pool of words depending on the type of the items. Probably doesn't have anything to do with the affixes in the case of rares. |

A rare (yellow) item is actually named "bloodthirsty annealed discharging "item" of the troll of the ranger of infamy". Or whatever, this was just an example.
3 prefixes + 3 suffixes = 6 mods = 6 words. Attention! The item type (casque, bow, etc) is not a word/mod! Also, it's implicit value is not a mod/word! But externally to the player the rare name is displayed with only 2 words, randomly choosed from a name database. In closed beta there were talks of an /itemmod command that would let you see the real 6 words of an yellow item, because this would be extremely useful when using divine orbs on that particular item. I'm pretty sure this will be implemented but right now there are more urgent/important things to do. Last edited by mobutu#5362 on Feb 2, 2013, 11:05:04 AM

" Yeah, this is what I was thinking as well. So in the case of magic items you can deduct the affix/suffix combo by "deciphering" the name of the item. When it comes to rare items, you just have to know/refer to the affix/suffix-list. Are you shpongled yet?

" Actually the name only consists of two words, "War Sword" is just the item type. Not sure if it is even possible to see how many affixes a rare has by it's name alone. And if possible, it probably would still be easier to learn the affixes than to try and decode the naming scheme of rares. |

" Yeah, this was exactly what I was trying to wrap my head around originally. Then I tried to look for whatever words the affix/suffix-combo comprised of but couldn't find them, so I just had to ask. :) Your post makes a lot sense and this is how it most likely is - I'm just too curious by nature, so I had to find out for sure. Appreciate the posts, thanks everyone. Are you shpongled yet? Last edited by ekhowl#0201 on Feb 2, 2013, 11:06:51 AM
