Prozon's Spellcaster / Summoner Templar Build. (OUTDATED)

Edit: This build is kinda out of date atm with alot of new support gems and stuff added since i used it last, might update it in the future.

So after much demand i decided ill post a small guide to my build here.

This build is mostly based around me wanting to be a "BattleMage" Using chainmail items and 1h scepter+shield, also possibly a staff. It might not be the most effective build out there in terms of farming maps at a high speed. but it does have pretty good Survivability for hardcore and solo play.

I start out with ice nova for good aoe dmg and ice spear for single target in normal for act 1 and 2, once i get to act 3 Freezing Pulse with LMP is needed, later on i like to get GMP, but LMP works too so this is abit up to every player what they want to use.

Once i get to cruel i will get a spell totem and use my ice spear with LMP and Faster Casting. You should start lvling zombies right away but they are kinda useless until lvl 50-60

This build kills bosses very slowly early game, but around lvl 40-50 the build starts getting fairly strong and you shouldnt have much problems running through merciless.

My skilltree at lvl 24 right before i kill vaal in normal:

Skilltree at lvl 45ish:

After lvl 45 zombies might be strong enough to be worth investing points in, atleast if you have a +1 to minion gems helm.

Skilltree at lvl 60ish:

My current skilltree at lvl 90:

As you can see for very late end-game i get ghost reaver and just use flasks for life. Once i get good items i will easily be able to have 5k life and 3-4k ES, but keep in mind i have a 6linked chest, so using the life leech gem might not be a viable option for everyone. I did play about the same build as this in Closed Beta with a 5link and didnt have ghost reaver and it still works fine. I just wanna try it out later on, it might not be a good option so will get back to that once i have tryed it.

My current gear and sockets/gems:

The main focus atm from my items is just HP, eventually i will focus abit on ES aswell once i start using ghost reaver. On weapon you want mostly spelldmg and cast speed, spell critt, Projectile speed comes in handy but its not needed.

If you have a 5linked or higher freezing pulse your gonna need a few items with Mana Regen aswell. at the moment i am struggling abit with mana regen, mostly due to my 6link though. It might be a good idea to take Eldrich Battery at around lvl 60-70 since your ES will be pretty low anyways until you get high level and some good items.

For flasks i use 2 seething flasks (instant heal) 1 hybrid flask since my mana regen is abit low, 1 granite and 1 quicksilver.

Hope i didnt leave anything important out, feel free to ask questions here and ill try to answer them. Also accepting feedback as there is probably room for some improvements somewhere :)

Should be fairly easy to stay alive on Hardcore with this build if you get past lvl 60. Just dont run recklessly into stupid situations like this one

It seems really good I must say.
I am also going into elemental dmg, but I will choose Staffs as my weapons.
been waiting for this! Love the build as it seems to be very solo friendly for the late game with all the summons.
my only question is: what did you take for the bandit questlines?

Saw your videos of the cbt templar and it looked like lots of fun. created a really similar build for my templar after looking at yours. Cheers :D

One question: Would you consider it worth it to go down the tree for Necromantic Aegis? Then pick up a spell shield with +% elemental damage, and all of a sudden your minion explosions get a major buff.
So you use Elemental Weakness Curse and Temporal Chain Curse?? I thought you cant stack Curses

You can't stack curses unless you have the boots, ring or passive that allows 1 extra curse. Im only using one at a time, depending on the situation. I also use enfeeble for hard bosses but thats on my offhand weapon.
