Extend the duration of idle instance to 30 mins ~ 1 hour temporily.

Nope, there are the same, I have been running thru slums for 7 times before I managed to get to waypoint in warehouse due to disconnection

If you enter the Slums then leave the Slums and Ctrl-Left Click the entrance to the Slums it will list your Instance with a 30 minute timer. I had around 6 Instances active at one point while trying to get it to generate one where you start off heading to the top left instead of top right :P because that's what I was used to after I first loaded the area for the first time.

Yeah I'm picky.

Well, that seems strange, as I was quite sure I didn't even spent 20 mins in warehouse looking for the waypoint before got disconnected. Been it has already been reset once I go back in. Maybe they hardcoded the duration checking function. The only way to confirm it is to create a instance, go in and explore a bit and let it idle for 20 mins and see if it's still there. If it isn't then it would be technical bug where applications / program is not functioning the way they are intended.

I was thinking, maybe the itens could disappear before the map reset? Since there are tons of itens lying around for each map I go. With so many itens from so many people it would sure brought more time for the map itself. Of course I don't think should disappear while you are on the instance, but after a while after it being idle.
