Three myths about PoE
PoE claims to be many things it is not or the other way around which is quite disappointing.
Myth 1: "PoE does not have gold, only orbs." The reality is that chaos orbs and exalted orbs work exactly the same as gold in other games. So this is a very misleading statement. Myth 2: "PoE is completely free and will never be "pay to win". As a matter of fact, PoE is not free because if you take it seriously you will have to purchase a lot of stash tabs. Stash tabs give a direct gameplay advantage. Furthermore, PoE is pay2win because of the rampant RMT going on especially in the permanent leagues. Remember, just because GGG doesn't endorse it that does not mean that PoE is not pay2win. Myth 3: "PoE has no auction house like in D3." Actually, PoE does have an auction house. It's called poe.xyz and nearly everyone on the top of the ladder used it to get there. PoE also has an economy of buyouts, not a barter economy. Thanks for listening and discuss. I dont want to agree but everything you said is dead on wish it wasnt like that.

Except for the orbs = gold bit. They do get used for crafting.

" So does gold... |

Everything you said is true, but everything they said was also true. The first is absolutely true. They do not use gold. The other two have no direct connection with PoE, as both are thirdparty

And it's dumped into feedback already. Maybe support can loosen up a bit with that while we're all bored waiting for march 5th?

" I'm not going to defend their trade system which I think is the only major flaw in this AWESOME game but calling the game "pay to win" is false. Yes you can buy stash tabs but you can also make as many "mule" accounts as you want for free. It's less convenient than having them all on one account but still possible and is very common. And yes, if you want to call them out on the RMTing then you are right that POE is pay to win. You're also calling EVERY other game that has any form of trade economy pay to win because RMTing is something that exists everywhere. |

" Huh? How is this anything involving feedback? I guess discussions are looked down upon if nobody is yelling at each other. |

" Nobody said it's not possible. But stash tabs do affect the gameplay, more than people claim (ironically, only those who bought them). |

" I'll say that outright then.... Most of the games on the market today are steaming piles of crap and if I had my way would've been removed from it and had their source code deleted. Just because the current trend in all game design recently is this pay to win and RMT crap (that rips off the worst of mobile gaming) does not at any point make any of it acceptable, it just means we lowered the bar on what we'll object to and what we'll throw money at. And that is just shameful no matter how we try to spin it, it would be like the jersey shore winning every single award possible and being the number 1 show in existence on the planet while we sit there and stuff our faces with our pink slime hamburger meat and ADA bleached hamburger buns (with fries that don't mold after a decade).... aka McDonald's Last edited by Jiero#2499 on Mar 2, 2014, 3:36:27 PM
