Vendor RECIPE Announcement

Sooo I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag.

I came across this about a few months ago and kept it to myself but I'm quitting MMO's because they soak up too much time so in my leaving I will share a well-kept secret.


Anyone who is interested in recipe hunting should do this.



Everyone knows you can get chances for same named items but accumulating an ENTIRE set will take you several months of playing (depending on your hours/day) but I will assure you that doing so is worth it.

Well, it's kind of fun to find out the reward yourself. At least that's how I'd like to find out about recipes. So I'll just let the recipe be known and the first one to achieve this will have the advantage of sharing or not. Either way it's completely up to you guys now. If you want to find out - you know what to do. :)

does iLvl matter?
can rings and say armor really have the same name? not sure I ever saw that.

Well certain names are only generated by having certain affixes - some of which are high level so it matters in that regard.


I started doing this while farming piety so my items were always lvl 60+. Cant say 100% for sure if it matters or not... I dont know enough about name generation and affix rolls to state that its a NECESSITY to be lvl 60+, its just a sepculation.


Just need to be diligent about spotting items with similar names when they come up.

Jewlery will take forever because so many affixes can roll on them and therefore have a larger pool for name generation.

Unless it's a mirror it's not even worth trying

My guess will be that it produces an exalt since we are still missing a recipe for that.

If that is the case it suddenly would make it believable that someone would want to keep that hidden by paying exalts to withhold the info. Since all they would have to do is buy shitty same name rares from poe.xyz.is for a chaos lets say so that would be 6-7 chaos that you could turn into an exalt.

This isn't possible since the possible names of most different types of items can't overlap (like rings with helmets)

Oh... you mean Paired items of the same name forming a double set (or a set of pairs of items with the same name)... that's a far more clear way to say it.

Ex sounds a bit high considering how much a regular pair is worth (1 alch).
It would be a fitting recipe for mirrors if mirrors weren't supposed to be so insanely rare and valuable.

Note that in order for this recipe to be executable one would need both 2 arm/hand slot items to take up no more than 7 squares.
essentially this means one would want to use two daggers/wands/3-unit-swords but it could also work if one of the two were a small shield, piercing sword, or claw instead.
(no 2 handers nor medium/large shields nor large 1 handed weapons nor quivers)
