PVP and Betting
So there was a nice little shitstorm in here last night, and that got me to thinking about pvp.
What do you think of a pvp system that allows betting before the match? The trade window could essentially be reused. Both sides would place thier bets (items from their inventory), and once they were locked in, the fight would start. The items would be held in escrow until a winner emerged. Possibly with rules to the fight as well, such as best out of three, or map modifiers to the fight. It would be interesting I think and add another layer to pvp. What do you think? EDIT: To clarify what exactly would be being bet. HAIL SATAN! Last edited by tramshed#4306 on Feb 24, 2014, 1:53:54 PM

Only if it were regulated and permitted independent observers. Too easy to cheat. There should be a way for observers to report cheating, otherwise it's a really bad idea to make the outcome of PvP matter.

" i think betting items is a bad idea...opens the door to too many shady possibilities an Arena points system would work best and perhaps even being able to wager the points could work...and maybe using the points for special items... "The problem with scrubcore is that it is full of of scrubs"

Im a bit confused how you would cheat it? Im not saying to have the game award items for winning in pvp. The players would bet thier own items and the winner would take all.

" i can imagine a scenario where someone intentionally loses and both parties increase the wages...until something insane is offered, where the guy who lost puts on their real gear and destroys the winner there are a lot of other scams people can try to coerce people into betting larger amounts. I wouldn't consider that cheating, just the dangers of being overly confident.
