Question about nipples...
" From what I know of the US, I would surmise it has a religious background, particularly Puritan. The US is also the country with the highest circumcision percentage in the developed world - circumcisions are, apart from religious tradition mostly done so the man cannot masturbate easily (or in some cases at all). Sex (and anything relating to it) is seen as something dirty and damaging, and hence no nipples on TV. Or f-bombs. You know, to keep the little angels pure. edit: Corroborating that supposition is a recent study that claimed that some few percentage (2% or so; Can't remember the exact amount. Low, but high enough to be noticeable)of American mums claim to have given a virgin birth. Which, well, is pretty much a religious delusion that probably stems from that "sex is diiiirty!" mindset, going so far as to bend reality into self-delusion. Just so they can go on believing they hadn't had sex yet. Even when they got pregnant from it. Interestingly, in my country, the opposite is true: Nipples are no big deal and show up as early as late afternoon on TV. But depictions of violence are treated as a severe threat for everybody (not just children and teenagers), resulting in a lot of video games and films either being heavily censored or being banned altogether. Game retailers in our neighbouring country are getting fat off exporting their versions to us, since they got the same language, but suffer no censorship issues. 12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human. We don't need nipples on TV, that is what the internet was invented for.

" I don't recall seeing someone's exposed penis on mainstream television that wasn't censored (unless we're perhaps talking about Turner Classic Movies that will show full, unedited versions of movies where everything goes in regards to full nudity of men and women), but I can say for certain that it's still 'taboo' to show a woman's bare ass, but they'll show a close up of a guy's ass getting out of the shower for a good 30 seconds, as if everyone wants to see it (and we don't, or at least not the heterosexual males anyways). Show a woman getting out of the shower and the camera will pan away before we get a peep or they'll censor it out. Hypocrisy at it's finest. Im from new zealand. Our tv might be less cencored than some of you other peoples. also saying mainstreme media might have been a little misleading. we dont do news storys on cock. I was more meaning at a time when a good chunk of the population might be watching tv. kids included.
When there wasnt all this digital tv with a bajillion channels. Nudity hardly ever showed up on tv. Sure i was younger then, so i probably didnt notice. But now days i see boobies (and nipples) on channel one (our more or less official news channel. well it used to be, now days all the original channels have news casts.) and this is at 7pm - 8pm dinner time more or less. Just after the news, they muight play a movie that shows a dong for a few secs, . about ten - fifteen years ago, that was very much taboo. That movie would have been playing at sometime between 12pm and 6am if at all, an it sure as hell wasnt playing on channel one. But yeah, double standards are a pain in the ass. Smoother than Smooth. This lack of nipples is why I don't watch TV...ever. In fact, I once bought a 50" 1080p flat screen, and after two years of it collecting dust, I decided that it would serve far better as a monitor for my PC. Now, I can see all of the nipples I want, lifesized, and in HD. Hell, they look more like real nipples than real nipples do.
