I don't mean to thrash your thread or anything but I just wanna know, what's the deal with these mirror worthy glorious plates selling for these ridiculous amounts of exalts. I mean any reasonable person would buy a legacy kaoms instead and save like 70 ex lol. Who are those people who use these chests?

Kaom is for 2hander build, thats simple question

And even then some two hander builds use and abuse double 6L, for example, my 2H Staff build. If u try crafting a chest you will see why the price is ~200 ex :)

I understand your inquiry, for sure. As you know, that skill tree is absolutely enormous in this game. There are so many builds, a million possible ones if not more. Many people that play PoE stream and are very well known for their skill and personalities and whatnot, but there are some that do fairly well and are low key as well. They remain out of the more popular guilds, public chat and the like.

Nonetheless, they take their gear seriously regardless of whether it is costly or not, and I've spoken with a few players like this and some of these builds are just - well, let's say not "cookie cutter" and the mathematics that go into it are mind-boggling to an idiot like me, for sure. No sarcasm intended, there, I really am an idiot with math. If I'm asked to balance a checkbook my first thought would be to look for a fulcrum of some sort.

I've had many requests for custom armor, armor to be made with the mods that none of us keep, aka the "shit rolls" like mana on kill - even a 1h sword I made for someone that he demanded have a combination of light radius and some other stat. He paid nearly 90 or 100ex for that sword if I recall, (I didn't set the cost, he offered me that much at the start) and it was one of the damnedest and ugliest things I've ever seen and I felt ashamed of taking that many exalts for it. But, he was so happy when it was done and I will never, ever understand why. It was as if one of us looked up the sky and cheered joyfully at a seagull that had just shit on our head.

My point is that sometimes an item is worth what one person sees in it, and they may not see it as "WTF, that dude is overcharging" or, is "greedy". They'll just think "I'd like to have that" and go about their ways of getting it. Every piece of gear in this game, every mod, suits someone. If this particular armor, for example, had a different set of resistances rather than what it has now, perhaps it would not have been looked at is any more valuable than the average chestplate and scrolled right past on the xyz indexer.

Pardon the wall of text response. I appreciate the question, though. I have thought the same thing many a time before realizing that this game is literally all math in real-time. I mean, every game is, but this is just accelerated a thousand-fold.

@The guy saying kaoms is a 2handers build.
Most 1h users go BoR and we all know why. To me the chest looks awesome though since I value chaos resist a lot but I'm just thinking if I had 220 ex I'd rather sacrifice 3k armor and a bit res to go from 6k hp to probably above 10k which is huge to my mind.
Anyways I won't thrash the thread anymore. It's a good chest and deserved the price I guess.

No matter what chest I'm ever wearing, I still always think about the BoR. 15% block and endurance charge chance on block. WTF. Man, I want to wear one now. In real life. With my own blood being the graphic effect.
