Account Hack?

If anyone else had been a victim of this I encourage you to post. I have lost my shared stash of orbs/currency, all skill gems, all rares on my character and the one unique I had. I have unique passwords for each website, game, etc... This isn't a case of my logging into the wrong character or dying in HC. I have been unable to find anything on my system after running scans all day.

Same problem: put on me weapons, rings, amulet and orbs in stash (besides scouring) was gone. Password contains letters and numbers (and not like some q12345).

I played a little earlier today, logged in and played about 45 minutes just now and then went to put some drops into my stash.
I didn't have much, but an entire line of currency in my stash just disappeared. I had.. 3scouring, 6 chaos, 1 gcp, 2 guse, 6 regret, 2 alchs and about 80 alterations. plus some other stuff here and there. I'm not so sad about it but it was be wonderful to know wtf just happened. yeah happened to me about the 7-9th of february but meh can get it back incouple of weeks..

hmm logged in only to get the dreaded you need to enter a reset code in MSG. when i logged in all my good trade currency has been stolen. What the hells up with this as my password contains upper/lower, numbers and special characters.

Isn't the "Logging in from a different location than usual" lock system meant to prevent hacks?
P.S - the same thing happened to me, I had to enter the unlock code because someone got my password, but nothing was stolen. |

i got hacked as well.

If you've been playing since the security measures were implemented and you still had your items taken, then your email is also compromised meaning at least one of a couple things happened.
1) You re-used the password for PoE on your Email. Don't re-use passwords. It leaves you very open and vulnerable to getting hacked if the other thing you shared your password with is ever compromised. 2) Your PC is compromised and they were able to take your separate passwords and use them. If your Email and PoE passwords are separate and they still got access to both, I'd assume that the PC was compromised, and do whatever I could to cleanse it. Also .. running a virus scan isn't really going to say whether you're compromised or not unless the scan says so. A clean scan does not mean your PC is not compromised. |
