A lot of lag + desync fixed by this
" I think you completely missed the point. Yes, there are multiple ways to do pretty much anything, but as far as optimization for gaming performance goes, having one simple "on off switch" like game booster is vastly preferable for many people to the somewhat less enticing alternatives of either making a bunch of permanent system changes that may not be suitable for other things, or making a bunch of individual tweaks every time they want to play games. I fully agree that any self respecting computer owner should know how to remove bloatware, but shutting down bloatware related system processes is not all Game Booster does. I was a fierce critic of the whole razer footprints thing, but Game Booster can be a pretty solid product, especially for people who need to be able to use their computers for stuff other than gaming. " You're extremely misinformed and don't understand what I said. If you did, you wouldn't argue it. None of the tweaks and practices you should do conflict or interfere with other applications. Gamebooster is useless. I tried it for the hell of it. No change what so ever. Nor should there be..I know precisely what it does and it does nothing for me. Gamebooster IS bloatware. For noobs. It's aimed at people like you that beleive it's doing some magical voodoo. My PC is ready to game...or do anything else under the sun with no need of Gamebooster, which again, does nothing anyways that wasn't done already. Do some reading and Googling and tweak your PC properly. Also, don't mistake a grammatical mistake for a inability or lack of knowledge... Being a grammar nazi does nothing but make you look foolish. " I take it from your lack of any solid argument that you don't actually have one? Claiming I'm misinformed doesn't work unless you can back it up with actual facts. Simply saying "it's for noobs" ad infinitum without giving any technical explanation of why you perceive it to be bloatware just makes you sound like, well, a noob.... Edit: And just to be clear, there are plenty of background programs that people use for various purposes that aren't bloatware, but that people would rather turn off when they are gaming. While that's only one aspect of what Game Booster does, it beats the hell out of manually going through an entire system tray and closing tasks one by one. I've been using it since I found out about through the footprints on their site. Fantastic boost to gameplay, and Razer Surround is quite nice, too, for better sound.

" Posts, and by extension, people like this make me cringe. Here we have someone sharing a helpful tip for people and then we have you stomping in, beating your chest and roaring about how we need to bring ourselves up to your level. For people with technical expertise there are better methods of resource allocation but for people who don't want to spend the time researching, gameboosters are a great alternative. If you want to educate people do it with less aggression. If you want to prove how awesome you are do it in your own thread. Don't try to educate while belittling others. It makes you seem like a prick. Last edited by Rumthorp#7442 on Jan 22, 2014, 1:40:04 AM

" He did it twice in consecutive sentences. I'm no grammar nazi, I just have a good appreciation for irony ;) |

My computer is free of bloatware and I often clean it up with different tools.
@ monstermunch: like ccleaner Never have any issues with my computer. Still the program manages to give me a lot better performance and I get a lot less desync because of that. Whatever it's called, lag, desync, fps. It just greatly improves how the game runs, that's all that matters. Hope it helps other people also! |

" Jesus, just accept that not everyone is willing to commit their time into tweaking their PC. Personally, i also prefer tweaking specifically for gaming, but for others, simply having an automated button doing that for them is much better. |

" Not lag, either, but low FPS. I'm pretty sure a lot of people here use these three terms interchangeably: desync, lag, fps drops. They are all different things, but the effects on the gameplay aren't all that different. | |
Huh, might have to give this thing a shot later. My rig is a shiny new gaming PC with little to nothing on it so I'm not expecting wonders, but we'll see if there's any improvement. Tracked down a few lag issues being caused by me leaving the Steam browser open to the PoE Wiki and those stupid ads constantly loading themselves and killed their ability to do so, wouldn't hurt to see what this can do too. I'll make sure to report back later to let you guys know if there's any visible improvement.
Actually, does anyone know of any performance software or something I could use to get some more accurate readings about any improvement? I'd like to get as many details as I can, and right now all I can think of is playing for a while with F1. :3 EDIT: I meant diagnostic software.
