taking a break again, until new league comes out (mapping unsustainable qq thread beware)

basically have love poe since closed beta, supported blah blah blah, went live, played hardcore and loved it blah blah blah, desync killed off my best characters so i took a very long break blah blah blah, came back and played Nemesis mode, really enjoyed it, desync was better and very amusing, lost a lot of characters,


finally leveled two to 75+ and a fairly decent amount of gear/currency built up, began running higher end maps on my lv 79, and even with stone hammer recipe, i could not sustain chisels, because maps rarely droped, and when they did, i would be so desperate for a map i would be forced to run it, (lv 70+) and then i resorted to buying the chisels i needed in hopes of obtaining more maps, from maps lol....and fell well short, ended up losing all currency at mapping, ended up with a couple lv 67 maps, no currency transmutations and portal scrolls which seem to be the ONLY THING THAT DROP 99.5% of the time, so now i am done, tired of investing time into a game, and getting absolutely nothing out of it, 4 months of progression, and cant even enjoy playing the end game, its like that hunger/desperation games........so i am off until they make new leagues i guess....

hopefully new league will be called like "easily sustainable endgame Nemesis league" or something of that nature.


peace out, love the game, love GGG to death, but they really need to reconsider their approach to endgame and what they choose to give/take....

Ya I think that map drops need to be buffed somewhat. I don't understand running a 75+ map and the only map that drops is a 66!! If I can only get a +2 map why would a -9 map drop it should be +-2. Honestly I think you should be guaranteed an = map in 75+ maps if the quantity is say 75+. What would it hurt honestly. It really sucks dropping 20c into rolling a map and only a 66 drops. I think you should be guaranteed an = map period. What would it hurt? Id always have maps which is how it should be. As it is now you buy a bunch of maps roll them find a few things try to sell items run out of maps buy more maps and repeat. Maybe I'm doing something wrong I dunno but that is really the only gripe I have atm. I'll continue playing regardless!! Heres to hoping the next league doubles map drop rates :)

Does kinda make you wonder how they can see that literally everyone complains about this who doesn't stream or rmt and not fix it. How can the developers think everyone is wrong on this? At some point it has to occur to them they are the odd ones out. I mean hell all we're asking for is the ability to enjoy high level character progression ><.

and it is people from all walks of the game that are experiencing this also, new people, old people,lifers, end game casuals etc....like you said everyone except streamers and rmt people basically. like someone said to me the other day in nemesis, they had like 1 stack of eternals, and 5-6 stacks of ex, and said that they get plenty of drops as he linked his currency to me i had a sinking pit in my stomach because i put in the time....i put in the effort, and still i dont get anything like that. ever, and i get rng is rng, but rng for 3 years now is kinda fucked up. that still i have the worst luck of any players on path of exile, we are not whining to get currency rates bumped up, just an easier endgame progression system, we put in the time and effort, we deserve it!!!!......and i laughed to myself, completely dismayed and discouraged....

i honestly agree with you, let me get my maps that are of equal level to what i am running (as you said +-2) and i am cool with that, but rolling map mods on a lv 75 and only even a lv 71 is discouraging, because at this point if the 71 yeilds no map, then you resort to buying maps which you just blew your currency rolling high 75q+ on the two previous maps hoping for a +1 up on either one, and getting either nothing or as you stated a lv 66-68....so there is a HUGE currency DUMP, but really no way for us to gain it back at the rate of which we run, unsustainable.

Despite plunging a small fortune in alts, alches, chaos and chisels, to maximize quantity on my maps I've had to grind lower level maps because my higher level maps gave too few same or higher level drops. This is not a "small sample size" issue, I ran tons of them while leveling to 86. There clearly is a problem with the frequencies of same and higher level map drops.

The last time the map system threw me back from 75 to 69 maps at which point I gave up on it.

i understand the feeling, 75 to lv 68-69 maps, its like that is what they want, do 5 lv 67s finally get 68, progress this way all the way to lv 73-75 if you are extremely lucky, just to slowly drop back down to lv 68-69 maps, and work your way, reoccurring washing machine

How many map instances have crashed since the patch a few mins ago?
As if sustaining maps wasn't hard enough already...

i am unaware, as i have yet to even download it, i am kinda going on poe strike until the next patch notes i read on forum say something about currency or end game mapping, which i might as well get used to playing something else, because w/ ggg's stubborness towards listening to anyone who is not a 1500$ supporter, or a 300+ follower streamer is kinda getting a bit old, but it wont change. hope to be proven wrong here

Have staff reply with a COMPLETELY WRONG answer, that had me mailing them again, sure that their "help" was incorrect.
Have that support member go, oh yeah, I derped.

Support quality has plumeted off a cliff since beta ended.
