A dictator tells 3rd world citizens in poverty that since he's rich, the economy is fine
If everyone has an advantage, no one has an advantage, if everyone is rich, no one is.
Increased drop rates help everyone, not just the supposedly poor. IGN: Arlianth

Good thing then that the dictators get toppled in about a months time. Fresh start.

" this is naive considering the prevalence of third party trading sites and rmt. instead of a middle class and a few super rich. you now have 99% of people in poverty and still the same few people relatively super rich. IGN: Arlianth

" GW2 had a pretty good system: they made a certain gear (exotic quality) enough to beat endgame content, but to get slightly better gear (legendary or Ascended) you had to grind like mad. Currently the difference between a rather easy to get bow and a mirror-bow is over tripple the actual dps. If they lowered the difference in utility between the mirror-worthy and the rather easy-to-get- if-you-grind-for-a-day to something like only 50% difference, then I think people would be far happier. " More like 99% dont give a shit and 1% is very vocal. Who, btw, spend their RL dollars every time a league starts so they can be the richest and own items that 4-months later, noone cares about? By all means, ban them, burn them and hunt them, but dont change the fundamentals of the game just because of RMT. Wtf is up with people today, it is like a mass hysteria?
Spoiler
I own no legacy items and the thought about them disgusts me enough to not play standard
Really, people go play Eve. It is an excellent game, played it for years. No gambling in crafting, you can craft anything you want, income is stable, no RNG, you can RMT legitimately, but chances are that if you do, you are also one of those people who gets blown up all the time. Plenty of item/currency sinks. x time yields y benefit,

except if you are also unable figure out the game there as well or just don't want to play it the way it was meant to be played

" That's precisely something I absolutely hate in a MMORPG. I hated it in Diablo III, I hated it in Guild Wars 2 and I sure I would hate it in EVE. It puts me in the position of: why the fck am I grinding in this game? I'll just open my wallet, since that's the most efficient legit solution. I don't ever want that solution to happen. " which is why GGG needs to aggressively crack down on rmt. IGN: Arlianth

" Care to explain why? |

" Well, the thing about Eve is that is so freaking unforgiving. You have no idea of the amount of kills being posted, where some dude, just spend his hard earned dollars to buy something and then someone just blows him up and takes his stuff. Yes, you can always kill someone and take their stuff. You are never safe in Eve. RMT typically works by people buying a game time card and sell it in-game for currency that they then use to buy other stuff. All a part of game with actual icons and items etc. Other people can then buy the game time with in game currency (and then not pay the monthly subcription). It is a supply and demand market which works quite well most of the time. There is also illegal rmt, but again, people who use it typically get themselves blown up eventually so I dont really care much. " Yea sure. Having stuff in game that was decided was game-breaking makes me loose interest in the meta which is what keeps a game alive for me. I could prolly save up to get a legacy whatever item if I wanted, but meh, takes the fun out if for me if it was deemed broken. While I dont compete on the ladder, I still dont think it is cool that other players have an edge over me, and neither would I find it fun if I had one over other players. | |
" So if it's no fun for you it shouldn't exist? Because it's not cool that players have an edge over you which you chose not to have? Nice logic you got there. In a bigger picture, legacy items are not that much better than the nerfed ones (sure they are if your best upgrade costs 40+ Ex, but that also achievable with rare items), so if the legacy ones are game-breaking then the new versions are too, but neither are in fact. You're saying that the gear which other players have makes you lose interest, and I fail to see how is that possible, since: a) those items are no good to you b) if they are good to you, you can buy them |
