D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?

The itemization in this game has it's own issues. Let's go use wizards as an example, not matter what kind of wand you use in POE, most of your damage comes from leveled and linked gems. The time spending to get yourself a great wand is incredibly hard and flat out boring.

D3 has it's own issues with items, but it's heading in the right direction, right now, D3 is incomplete due to the fact many things aren't coming until the expansion...we'll see a few updates after and even one last update before RoS.

I enjoyed the hell out of POE, I expected some changes in 1.1 since 1.0 didn't do much in terms of itemization except for a major overhaul to the skill tree and some balance fixes. I didn't expect much out of 1.0 since it was a release version and feedback would be far superior with everyone noticing this game on steam and giving that audience a voice as well.

1.1 failed, as nothing has changed since OB, yeah you do have more support gems to deal with but it's still a pain in the ass to have to go through their broken RNG.

Before anyone jumps on me and says RNG is RNG, D3 2.0 has RNG but it's much more realistic in terns of when you'll get an upgrade.

In D3 out of 100 elite mobs, you're likely to get an upgrade that suits your build and class. In POE you might get something decent after 400 mob kills and still not suit your build and end up being vendor trash. More than likely it'll be a blue drop or an underwhelming 4L rare.

The point is, D3 is headed in the right direction, it's not quite there yet but it's at least taking the necessary steps.

GGG have become something that loves to push content but lacks in quality. I want this game to succeed but it's going to hit a wall and people will get bored of it. I'm sure it's already happening, especially since classes aren't even that unique with the exception of where they're placed on the skill tree.

POE in it's current state is where D3 was in it's release. Influencing RMT with it's tedious drop rates. Do they really think the majority is gonna spend 12 hours a day farming for a piece? They ignored the request of an SFL league, while D3 with Bind on Account and the removal of the AH has become self-found. Guess which one is getting all the attention?

It's has nothing to do with being hardcore or casual, it's about not having the same amount of time as if we were still 13 years old.

Well Diablo 3 has more fun stats, PoE you just aim for speed and flat on gloves, life/es and res on other parts lol. Jewelry is probably the most diverse item in PoE. Too many USELESS stats on PoE mods too, and I mean like utterly useless.. Who wants reduced requirements, stun recovery, thorns etc etc? All just there to dilute the mod pool, add no variety whatsoever.

Lol thx for the laugh

From what I can tell from the last pages we got a bunch of clueless person who got no idea what itemization is.

Claiming d3 got great itemization or even close to poe is laughable at best and if you truly believe that I suggest go see a doctor because you might be seeing pink elephants soon. Or stop taking drugs

You make a good case for D3, almost makes me wants to try the expansion. But then I remember the actual items, with the huge DPS number in the focus and not much else and I remember how simplistic the game was.

If only there were a middle ground between D3 and POE. :S

D3 got itemization ? thats new ...
I never felt i had any options in my gear progression there only what i can afford or not.

And don't mix in fact that they turned the it into game for two nights. They got the money they don't care , PoE can't do that. D3 could have best of both world with offline mode where you could cheat and mod game as much you like. Want all legendaries craftable ? just grab the mod you want. And then have separate online mode. But they wanted online DRM so it is what it is. I'm not leting them to pee on me again.

No... I get no upgrades in D3 or PoE from playing... This happens when you've reached end-game in all ARPGs. They just can't drop you better items. Only problem is that in D3 I can't trade for anything better...

This is a joke. PoE is miles beyond where D3 is NOW... PoE actually has multiple builds that you can go back and explore, and items that make you want to do that. The end-game of both PoE and D3 needs work, but at least PoE makes me want to go back and make new characters.

How many of these diverse builds are usuable to someone who's just starting out? For Me or You, it's not a big deal, we've accumulated enough since OB but how limited are the newcomers?

The fact you can't fully respec for a fee is why they lean towards cookie cutter builds in which they can't even afford. They don't want to make mistakes which screws up their build to the point where it's not even worth using respec points.

You can talk about diversity all you want but the majority on here use cookie cutter builds, because they are most viable.

I think you can start out with a goal to reach any of those builds. You can even create your own. I have two end-game builds of my own, and one facebreaker build that I copied. As you play more you learn the tree more and you make the adjustments that fit your needs and play style.

I often start a new league with just a general build of nodes I know Ill get and then spec into something specific based on what items I find. I'm not sure where you think this game lacks diversity concerning builds :-/

So true. Almost every person in this post claiming itemization is better in D3 says "In D3 I know I can find upgrade in xxx amount of time, in PoE i get shit all the time". It has nothing to do with itemization.

In D3, no matter your build, no matter your class, you'll have the exact same items except from the main stat, and the fact they're putting away CC/DCC/AS to focus on big ass main stat rolls don't make it better. I love seeing a monk, a barb and a witch doctor steamrolling Torment 4+ with the same 2H legendary weapon, great itemization right there.

WTF, this thread isn't 32 pages of people saying PoE?!
Keep PoE2 Difficult.
