What that ring is about, is that it is absolutely essential for CI to not be stunned, due to desync and due to glass cannon trapping. It doesnt matter if we are talking about the old CI or the new. You should not be stunable. The ring is so that CI chars do not have to remove one of the coolest item slots in-game. It also means there are more items in-game to alleviate this issue that brings down many fresh players, and endgame the ring is used instead of the amulet.
