changing currency color

I think Dan saying it wont get you banned is good enough, anyone like to share?

I said it's unlikely to, but it is still violating the TOS to edit the internal game files, so yes, it is illegal as far as we're concerned.

There have been periodic posts/requests for changing the currency drop colors, as it is not distinguishable at all (for me, for instance - it looks 99.99999% the same as a white item).

There also was a post in suggestions - which I have kinda stopped bumping.

Mainly because I think it is GGG's design philosophy to make currency drops intentionally hard to identify, so needing attention, and so the marginally different off-white color chosen for those by the designers. I arrived at that mainly because of complete lack of response in any of the threads, so not worth bumping/requesting etc.

Now I am back to peering at each screen intently for a minute before moving to next one etc :( oh well.

I think this has something to do with your monitor/screen.
I've had difficulties differentiating currency from whites while watching a friend play, but never on my own PC. I also kept "seeing" chromatic items that weren't chromatic on his monitor.
I believe this is a client side issue.

Much desync.
Such rewarding.
Wow.
According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew?
I agree on different monitors displaying it slightly differently (and that slight different display makes a world of difference in this case).

But the whole idea of DECIDING that currency color is going to be slightly off-white, instead of a distinctly different color (like it is for magic, rare, unique items?) is what made me think that it was an intentional design decision.

The currency colour is what was uniques in D2/Median.
Anyone who played that game can spot them in an instant.

Still doesn't make sense to not have it green or some such distinctly different color.

Just because some other game had non-distinct colors to differentiate stuff, doesnt mean newer games need to make that same decision :-P
GGG, it's time you allow us to make some mods for the game. Just put all the stuff you'd allow to be modded in a special folder so we can play around with it. Things like changing font colors / types or editting 2d HUD art.

Well what would the punishment be then?
