I think I screwed up my character and I'm in need of assistance. I'm currently in Act 1 Merc and I keep on dying. I rushed for through maps without attacking to get to Ledge and farm there with a party and level to 60, but I still die. I have 10 refund points. Please check what I've done and tell me if I can fix it or if I have to start over. Tyvm in advance.
you dont have hp....56 + 40 ... i have that much from one piece of gear. whats your hp? in act 1 merci i had 3k hp.... what are your resists? whats killing you? ele dmg or physical?
and change that weapon, it was good till 57, now you can get decent karui maul that will increase your dps.
your gear is pretty .... weak, try to get some upgrades, hp+resists wherever and better weapon
i would mby respec those armor nodes near unweavering + lightning resist in mara tree and put it all in templar hp nodes, but mby thats not necessary
Yes, he is right. Your gear really doesn't look very good. Your hp from your gear also stack with your "x%-more-hp-nodes". That's why the creator of the build says, hp mods are high priority stats.
I still have my old Kauri Maul. I dealt 4000something DPS with a Heavy Strike with it. Maybe we can trade, if you still don't have a better one.
Then, get a better helmet. That...bucket you wear...not even exile prisoners should wear that.
Same with your gloves. There are way better ones.
Your amulet is quite useless. You should have enough strengh to keep your gear and gems. The 19% rarity is okay, but as long you die too fast, you need other stats first.
The rings are not that bad but since they are only blue they don't provide many stats. Either look for grey rings and try an orb of alchemy or you need luck to find a rare one.
The belt is okay. Tri-ele is always a good thing but there might be also better belts.
Look for "Lesserli" or "MorkvonOrk" (one of that should be correct) ingame. I have several items in my stash, some of them are part of my old gear, so there should be gear to increase your survivability.
As far as I can see, your resistences should be 24/49/62/-60 - lightning is okay for act 1 but especially fire is way too low. With good resis and a good life regen most elemental enemies just tickle you. Your stats are good when a group of spark-casting or fire-casting enemies fire at you and you don't take damage.
I think what he's trying to say is that if you leech 600 dmg, given the amount of HP he used to calculate it you can only leech up to 20% in the first second, with the balance being added after that.
If you have 1000 maximum life, and leech 600 life with a single attack, it will take three seconds for that life to be applied to your current life. You always get the full amount of life leeched, it is only the rate at which it regenerates that is capped - if you leech a large amount of life during a battle, you may find that the regeneration continues long after the battle is over.
Thank you for these informations. Hmm I have 3500 Life, I can life leech max. 700 life every second. If I take the life gain on hit gem, I can I get 36 life back for every monster. For reaching 700 life leech with a life gain on hit gem I have to hit over 19 monsters at the same time. But in generaly you hit maybe -+8 Monsters. That would give me only 288 life back.

how do i hit 75% resistances being fairly new and only willing to play hardcore I am incredibly worried about getting stuck on default I hear people craft rings each new level but idk how they get resistance ones.

Iron Ring plus different color skill gems you can make them:

But early game seems simplest to get Coral rings for life, make magical when you want. They also drop quite a bit.
So this build seems noob friendly and I think I understand gearing.
Coming from DIII I am very much missing the AH, trade chat is overwhelming. I tried to buy something but they kept wanting offers, and acronyms are confusing. I found this but it is a lot to memorize --link removed-- But even with that how do I know what offers are even close to fair?
I ask here because I just hit lev 27 and having read all 160+ pages of this thread it seems like:
-Good Weapons are critical for DPS
-Geofri's Baptism is very popular for midame
So I assume I should try to get one, even if bad sockets links I should be able to make usable with obs.
Anyone have guidance? I love research so I'd be glad to be pointed to a wiki I missed!

Thanks for the build... really awesome and a lot of work putted !
Now I ask (may have been already asked or even answered put I do not really want to look in the 160ish pages)
SHOULD WE LEVEL ALL GEMS (skills) TO MAX ?
Thanks for your answer and keep up the good work :)
Currently I'm trying to decide if I want to use concentrated effect and lose 30% area but gain 70% damage or use added fire damage.
I have 6700 dps with concentrated effect or 5500 with added fire but 30% more area of damage.. Any input? I find with the extra range I can stay away from enemies longer due to stuns... the extra damage is nice though. help.
** Edit - May of answered my own question, with the higher physical damage with concentrated effect I am stunning alot more proficiently on unique and rare monsters. Just ran a 66 tropical island map and had the boss stunlocked at the end. Didn't even get close to me.. So I think with a maraohi erqi concentrated effect is the way to go.
