The recipe is in the game for a substantial time now and i only saw about 5 Threads for this problem, so I think it is not necessary to fix it, though would approve of it.
Forums are SOOO much fun on patch day!
Casuals play because it's fun, not to achieve any goal unreachable with their resources.
We are playing for the next difficulty, the next keystone, the next item upgrade.
Not to feel better than anyone else.

its not about regrets, its for option to remove book from inv if u dont get

If dropping it out of town is too much trouble, you could always put all your gear in your stash and delete your character. At least when you remake it, you'll be able to choose the right reward.

This is a much more honest mistake than vendoring a Kaoms though. GGG could see that he has the book in his inventory in real-time rather than trying to track down an item that may or may not even still exist in their database.
I think it's worth a shot to ask.
