I think what is largely missed here, is that people get muted for doing things that cause others to report them.
Players keep saying "omfg mods are shit" and such, but it is player reports that lead to these mutings. Mods act on reports. OP clearly deserved what he/she got. I don't trade often (don't like to even have trade chat open 99% of the time), but when I see what I personally consider spam, I report it. It doesn't have to be the same message 10 times in a row in the same trade channel, it can be things like the same item linked 10 times per message "WTS <link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link><link>Bringer of Rain</link>". Such conduct puts me off trading with these players, even if they have what I want at a reasonable price. It's not hard to post your "WTB/WTS" in each of 20+ channels once, then repeat a minute or two later. Many lewt. Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. Don't know why everyone is jumping on OP. What the fuck is trade chat for, if not for spamming your shit everywhere? Seems like that's the entire point. I only hope they start muting everyone after a single spam. I hope the entire trade-to-win economy dies a spectacularly gruesome death.

Who cares, most sane people keep trade channel off unless you want to majorly screw up your eyesight, when people take the spamming to global, then we have a problem, however if smb. tries to sell smth. on global once, not spamming the s*** out of it I personally have no problem with it, until we get a proper trading system which (hopefully) doesn't involve the ridiculous "eye - to - eye" contact with the other person, we will have threads like these, and even if we get smth. like that, an Auction house, for instance, then again we will have a large amount of anti threads how much it sux and that it will damage the already screwed up economy we have now!
Bottom like is, you cannot please every player, some will demand smth. similar to an AH, others are happy how things are currently, the rest would settle for self found only, no trades, nothing, what you find - you use, personally I wouldn't mind the last variant but the current trading "system" has to go! Back in closed beta we had zero trade screen to trade we had to party up and go into a instance and drop the items on the ground to trade. I wouldn't have muted you for that, I'd banished you permanent. Spamming 60messages in a very short time gg. Do 1 message in each channel, then wait a few minutes til maybe new people have come and might be interested in your trash item that really is, nothing else but vendor trash!
