Strategy for act 3 boss? (spoilers ofc)

I soloed her on my level 31 Marauder (Heavy Strike). What you need prior to the fight is max lightning res and as much ice as possible.

So the boss drops pools on the ground that will change the type of the boss. You want to kill all portals next to the boss (or only the ones that you have the least res for). If the boss gets into a fire portal she becomes super fast and does physical auto attacks. If she goes into the ice portal she becomes a ranger archer that shoots ice arrows. You can hide behind furniture and pillars to avoid the Ice arrows and run around in circles to avoid the fire.

The reason you need max lightning res is that the only time you do dps to her is in her human form. Her human mode does lightning barrages from the sky and shoots out an orb that does arc. Other than that she's pretty easy.

Yeah that was what killed me. I stood toe to toe and swung away with heavy strike and got shock killed. It was a stupid idea of me to start the fight with just 29% lightning res but from the first try I did when I aborted I didn't notice the lightning attacks. Was so busy with the adds. Assumed it was just the flying slow moving lightning ball you needed res for.

But like I said, :) time to try again, marauder number 2 will soon be on his way. Starting over in PoE is pretty nice design I think. All the currency that can drop. In D3 for example you couldn't find anything of value until inferno.

I just was standing next to him and hit him with melee attacks. Some Life on hit and stuff and you will survive. Got him easy, even with my Dual Wielding and not using my shield.
I love to use the edit button. :P

Greetings from Germany.
Then I think I was lucky or the stun saved me. Because when she was in human form, she was mostly stunlocked and knockbacked, while I pounded her with heavy strike. That's why I barely saw any lighting attacks in my fight.
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
I just beat her at lvl36 on Hardcore normal difficulty.

(Building towards a wand templar, but haven't had a single wand drop, so skipped any wand talents till I finally get one)

My Templar uses a decent 1 handed sword with a decent all resist + hp shield - Heavy Strike, Cleave and Rejuvenation totem. 1k hp, 75% fire, 38% cold, 68% lightning.

I had no idea what to expect going into this fight but as soon as I saw her shift into her ice form I just hid behind a pillar, as that is my lowest resist.

For her fire form I just put my Rejuvenation Totem behind me and face-tanked her. Her human form is no threat. Rinse and repeat.

Isindel: Interesting that you tanked her when she went fire. I would suspect your tank durability probably was because of the shield.

Next time I will definately not go for 75% cold resist. The cold attack isn't any problem really since you can just dodge it when kiting. Biggest problem in the fight if you have decent resist otherwise I thought was the adds. They are slow moving but alot of them. Also I found it somewhat difficult to time her going back to human form from her frost form. Tended to run away and lose her out of line of sight so didn't know when she changed back.

Mara number two is on his way though. Just started a little while ago. Lvl20 and rising. Luckily I at least kept my old mauls so got weapons up until around lvl28 or so. That is the most important piece of gear.
I had 75% Fire and Lightning Resistances, and 59% Cold, but her ice form is heavy hitting, and can take you down real quick if you're too close. I would always hide behind the nearest (!) pillar, so i could see her change back to normal form and attack her, and that way she couldn't hide while out of sight. And i used that time to attack the adds to recharge my flasks, but that only works as ranged.
Other than that it wasn't that hard, resistances over 60 should be enough, i guess. Just kite the fire form and hide from the ice attacks, and attack the closest portal to her, if possible.

Oh, another thing: With all the adds, i had some fps-drops, so that could be lethal during her ice-form.
My strategy was to hold down left click till it died. Worked on melee shadow and melee marauder.
normal was surprising but not too hard, cruel... another story. lucky im on softcore lol. The biggest hassle is however that i couldn't max all resists, and it goes through all dmg type attacks. Imo fire isn't too important, could tank it just fine, cold I just WB around so split arrows kept missing me, basically lightning + summoned crap that kinda lag me caused most issues. Solo on claw shadow, bet ranged has huge advantage but I've yet to do it on anything ranged so can't say.
My tip would be to face her with capped fire and cold resistances. I felt I could safely stand toe-to-toe with her on my melee duelist in fire form. Cold form was the worst. I hid behind a pillar until it expired. After a couple close calls I singled out the cold portals and ignored the fire ones.

Only faced her once so far so I can't claim I know the fight inside and out. I have a couple questions:

1) Does she gain a shock debuff and take extra damage for a while when her transformation ends?

2) Does she deal any significant lightning damage? I didn't seem to notice any.
