Ancestral Bond

Experienced a bug with this keystone consistently throughout my games tonight. I was permanently stuck with the zero damage effect after the totems died. I tried attacking different enemies, different zone, resetting the zone and only logging out fixed the glitch. Surely this isn't correct?

My only solution was to refund Ancestral Bond and continue on in an otherwise amazing first Act 3 experience...
I'm fairly sure relogging *shouldn't* bring your damage back. A Passive is passive; it will always apply. As such, with Ancestral Bond you will never deal damage.

Unless you meant relogging after the respec?
If you cannot deal damage yourself, does that mean you can use Rightous Fire without the downside of selfdamage? That would mean for Totemmancers a free global 30% (39% with Inner force) spell damage. Seems kind of strong...
Or does the selfburn still deal damage?

Relogging before the respec, so the passive isn't active until you activate the second totem. But I suppose you're right about the fact that it is a Passive and it does say "Cant deal any damage yourself" That's too bad the keystone transitioned from OP to boring. I really hoped the zero damage dealt effect was only active during the duration of the second totem.. I'm sure GGG will keep this guy on the radar.

o.O - what would you do with 39% more spelldamage if you can't deal damage with spells?

The skill scales up to ~80 more global dmg (~100 with Inner Force). Since Totems inherit your spelldmg that would effectivly double your dmg output for the Totems. And 2 Totems seem already too strong without that.
Righteous Fire does not work properly with AB at the moment, Mark confirmed it as a bug and not working as intended. RF's damage is not effected by modifiers, so with AB, it still works. This will be addressed in an upcoming patch, where AB is likely is to have its description changed to reflect that you can still deal self-damage.

Also, Viper Strike/other DoTs do damage with AB, which will also be fixed.

When that's fixed, you will still be able to use Righteous Fire to get the massive Spell damage buff, but it's going hurt you :) Could prove to be a very powerful build.
Question - Frost Wall + Ancestral Bond will work together?
IGN Odminko, Orlangoor.

if you don't plan doing damage with frost wall. But using frostwall totem is lots of fun.
