Feedback: Crafting sucks. How about we make orbs always upgrade?

Proposed change:
1. using a jewelers orb can only add a socket to an item, it can never roll less sockets than the item already has. optionally, just make the jeweler add 1 socket per orb.
2. using a fusing orb can only add links to an item, it can never roll less links than the item already has. optionally, just make the fusing add 1 link to an item.
3. using another crafting orb on an item, IE alteration or chaos orb, cannot roll lower mods than the item already has. IE, if I have a magic carnal armor with 2 level 30 mods on it, I cannot roll any mods lower than level 30 when I alt it. Similarly, if I have the same armor rare with 6 level 30 mods and I use a chaos on it, I cannot roll any mods under level 30 when I chaos it.

Just seeing a lot of "I used 1200 fusings and still no 6-link" which I think is ridiculous, so here's my proposed change.

Discuss.
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes

Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.

Agreed that the chances should be better but I don't think its good idea to make you get your craft for sure.

I think they should rather lower the drop chances than make succeeding chances near to nothing.

Problem is that some players have vaults full of orbs already, so lowering drop chances wouldn't be fair in any exiting league but could be good option for new leagues to come.

So you think everyone having the best gear possible in an hour is a good idea?

Nah
FUSINGS FOR SALE!

Oh wait, no one wants them? Why do you not want my fusings!

oh, its because your gear is perfect?

Well thats pretty shit

So you think having only the top 1% of no-lifers that play path of trading having a chance at the best gear is a good idea?

Nah

All the best gear in a hour? Of course not. One perfect piece a year? Maybe. I don't care if it takes a long time or if it's difficult, I just want a step by step progress toward a long term goal.
This is reasonable.
For me it's very frustrating keeping items in my stash or even selling them (that are obvious upgrades) just because they don't have the sockets/links that I need and I obviously can't link them.

So.. your applying game mechanics(using skills in a specific build) to your selling of fuses??

Strawman.

Slayer says 'having gear in an hour is not a good idea'

You respond by pretending he said 'no one should have good gear except a very few people'

This is not what he said, this is you making something up and then going "that argument I made up in my head and pretended you said is stupid"

That is bad logic right there, and just makes anything you say pointless, because you clearly have just invented reasoning in your head and ignored anything anyone has said

I raise you an "arguing the worse-case scenario fallacy" which is if they implemented his optional suggestions.

And if you have not realised it, I did the exact same thing he did. I haven't seen anybody in this tread talk about having the best gear in an hour.

Edit: But you are right, it was a strawman. Worse than that, it was a bad one. But I still stand by the part after that.

Couple of notes

His is not a strawman, because the ideas behind his OP provide you the ability to get the best gear possible in an hour, fusings and jewellers gaurenteed socket/fusing? instant 6l, the affix change? instead best affixes rolled.

And taht means best item in game in an hour easily.

So I am sorry, your argument is clearly a strawman, and the strawman itself is rather a bad argument in general, those who spend a lot more time should have the better gear, they have spent more investment into getting said gear. Kinda basic logic there. I work 10 hours, he works 40, same job, same pay, he gets 4x more pay. Unfair? Not really

So I disagree both with your point and with the argument that his was a fallcy

Of course people that spend a lot of time should have better gear, I haven't said the contrary. However spending a lot of time does not guarantee anything since the orb results are random/non-correlated.
