Exactly why I don't ever buy fusings, I just use the ones I get from drops and alts conversions, otherwise I would ragequit.
That random linking mechanic is the biggest pain in the ass in this game, got my first 6L in 2 fusings and now I'm at 1300 for my second and counting. Tempted to organize a lottery and scam other people out of their fusings.
Frankly if I hadn't get my first 6L I would have probably quitted a long time ago, and when I think to all these players not even having one at level 80+...

i had alot of currency and tried to cheese the system, and it didnt work and thats why i'm sad and mad atm.


i'll be back playing this game any time soon i guess i just wanted to vent that after alot of time invested in the game and only at the very end got somewhat rich in the game it was all gone cuz i needed a build i wanted to play.

Don't invest everything you have into a 6 link. You should not ever expect one. Stick to a 5 link unless you're extremely wealthy.

OP, like many many other people who spent all their wealth trying to give a relatively small improvement to their beloved characters and failed, and then felt frustrated by it, is understandable and more, his frustration is. A game should not allow these situations. I mean, scripting a compromise isn't hard. For example, after 999 failed fusing, the 1000th gives you 100% 6L chance. This way no matter how you sux (luck-wise) if you insist, you'll get it. That's what we want in a game. Power to make things we want happen, even if it requires time. Instead players get naturally selected by chances, not by skills, not by dedication, not by commitment, but by luck. This is an avoidable loss of players for the PoE community and a potential loss of income for GGG.



What follow is optional to read. It's just an expansion to my comment.
It was a warm summer evening... No I'm kidding, let's be serious. PoE after a certain point, like many others games that struggle with their endgame, sees the main "fun" equation stop being true.
This equation, that obviously is hard to keep true for game designers, is:
<quantity of time invested playing> linearly connected to <character improvement>.
Translated, the more you play the more your character will improve. This is why the leveling part of the game is so more fun than the endgame.
The failure in keeping this equation balanced makes people lose interest in a game, because control over the improvement of your character shift from your control to the luck domain. Player lose control over it, and sequently lose great part of the fun. This equation is the main psychological reason why we love rpgs so much.
PoE endgame can be seen (understandably) as not funny and frustrating, and most probably makes the game lose a lot of players because of this.
The reason is that Goddess Luck is a bitch, and if the power to better our characters ends up completely in her hands, it sux!

Yea when i started playing i got 2 6links before i got my first 5l. From that moment until now nothing but 5links. I am a sad panda as well :(
